Hello, my name is Heather Footman and I want to help you find yourself again! Addictions Counseling is my specialty. However, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and women’s issues are my niche. Everything surrounding childbirth changes our mind, body and soul. You do not have to suffer anymore. I understand what you’re going through having experienced much of it myself. If you had a traumatic birth or you feel the baby blues are lasting too long, I’m here.

I was born in Romania and came to the USA in 2004. As a result, I’m adding a multicultural approach the great journey of the therapeutic process. I have a degree as a special education teacher and have worked for 10 years with a specialty in emotionally disabled children. I also worked as a licensed psychologist in the Romanian Army. Unfortunately, the psychology degree did not transfer in the USA, so I decided to go back to school, pursuing a clinical social work degree at USC. I enjoy working with adults, seniors and families on a variety of issues such as parenting, trauma, complex PTSD, and high functioning autism.

I am a License Professional Counselor. My background consists of developmental-behavioral mod in autism spectrum disorder and other related disorders. I am a seasoned 24 year specialist trained and experience in counseling with a specialty in mental health, developmental disabilities and family therapy. I am a member of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professionals. I am an appointed member of the S.C. Notary Public. I offer tele-mental health services.My aim is to foster the understanding of healthy living with a healthy mindset. My counseling approach is research evidence based using a modality of eclectic therapies.

I work with a wide variety of clients such as relationship issues; trauma and grief work. I also do hypnotherapy to deal with anxiety,pain management, sports improvement,smoking cessation, weight management , and relaxation, plus many other issues. I also have a degree in addictions to help folks who are in addiction as well as those who want to maintain their sobriety and want balance in their lives.I am a Daniel Amen Affiliate as well as a SAP counselor.

I specialize in conducting a broad range of diagnostic evaluations, including psychoeducational, ADHD, and mental health assessments, as well as autism and neuropsychological screenings. I earned a Ph.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology and a Certificate in Graduate Study in Applied Statistics from the University of South Carolina.

My passion is to help those that live with lifelong disabilities and present complex and/or substantial behavioral issues, which can include problems relating to noncompliance, tantrums/meltdowns, physical aggression, self-injury, destructive behavior, elopement, feeding problems, toileting, and school-related behavioral difficulties. Those seeking services are often frustrated or overwhelmed with these behaviors, as they can pose a risk to the individual or others, interfere with the individual's ability to function in typical environments, and/or interfere with the acquisition of skills or independence.
