Well, hello there! My name is Narumi Amador. My years of experience in the field have offered me the opportunity to work with people of all ages, genders, religions, ethnicity, races, and sexual orientations. I use a client-centered integrated approach along with an attachment perspective when working with my adult, children, and adolescent clients and their families.

I am an LPC with 17 years of experience, EMDR trained to work with clients of all ages. I am also a Christian Counselor if that is what my clients are needing. I love children, adolescents and the challenges they bring to family dynamics. I tailor my style to the needs of my clients, because no two clients are alike. I'm solution, attachment & trauma focused. My heart is in what I do and invested in my clients success in therapy. I work with children (5+), teens, young adults and beyond. My therapeutic focus is in neurodiversity, grief, transitional times in life, anxiety and depression. Sometimes, there are thoughts, memories and moods that are causing us distress. Often, when we try to express these to others, we are left feeling more confused about what we are feeling or misunderstood afterward. Sometimes words fail us and we cannot find the right way to express ourselves and then we find ourselves repeating the same cycles. I have found in my work that when words fail, art can help us bridge that language dead-end. I am a registered Art Therapist; I believe that art is innately human and can provide a safe space to initiate growth and change in individuals.

Stress is often the start pointing of depression and anxiety. Stress makes it difficult to set boundaries, participate in self-care, communicate, and several other factors that drive our life forward. We often find ourselves with a deficit in more than one area of life. It is important to identify and process out the source of the stress be it physical health, trauma, spiritual, family, social, career, finances, or romantic relationships.

Kristen graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill (B.A. Psychology), and obtained her Masters of Education (Ed.M.) in Risk and Prevention, and Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling (C.A.S.) from Harvard University. Kristen has experience working with individuals from various backgrounds, and provides therapy in English and Spanish.
