I believe that good psychotherapy is rooted in a strong collaborative relationship. I began my career decades ago in community mental health, and I have worked in many different formats and settings with clients of all ages and dispositions. I have a good grasp of the relationship between immediate passions and long-term developmental needs, and I am flexibly responsive in helping clients to navigate apparent conflicts between them. I have many different skills to bring to bear to assist in examining these issues, and in making and implementing good decisions. These skills include humanistic, gestalt, and cognitive behavioral therapy, and hypnosis.

I believe authenticity is at the root of living whole and living well. Utilizing my background in social work and years of experience in various practice settings, I employ an integrative approach to meeting the therapeutic needs of clients. My practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of a range of mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and helping adults navigate life stressors. Welcome, my name is Cheryl and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. With more than 20 years of experience as a Professional Counselor, I use a combination of theoretical approaches to fit the needs of the person sitting in front of me. I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults who are dealing with life transitions, anxiety, depression, self-discovery, relationship with self, relationships with others, substance abuse, parenting concerns, trauma, and grief. I also have experience with death and dying, as well as young adult transitions.
