I am Angela Farmer, a licensed psychologist with five years of clinical experience. I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults going into adulthood or early into adulthood. My therapeutic goals focus on people who are facing Anger Management, Coping Skills, Codependency, Depression, and Anxiety. The modalities I enjoy using are Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Reality Therapy. Welcome to my practice! For over ten years I have worked as a licensed counselor, with experience in addictions, family violence, at-risk adolescents, and working with the HIV/AIDS population. I have specific training in Cognitive-Behavioral, Rational Emotive Behavioral, and Solution-Focused Brief therapies. These therapies have been shown through research to be effective in treating depression, anxiety, addictions, and other mental health diagnoses. I also like to incorporate relaxation, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques, and art therapy techniques in my work with clients.

During this pandemic/quarantine, so many people have been affected by loss and grief. My main focus lately has been helping people who are grieving loss. Grief is often a lonely journey, and those who are not grieving wonder why you aren't "over it" yet. People grieve in many ways and heal on their own timetable. I help clients in their grief journey in a way that makes sense to them without judgment or trying to rush them along.

I have worked with children, adolescents and adults providing outpatient therapy and co-parenting counseling. I have extensive experience working with families undergoing divorce, custody issues, and blended family concerns, for both parents and children. I also work with a range of depression, anxiety and self-esteem issues. My treatment focus comes from a strengths based perspective with a cognitive therapy approach.
