I also work with individuals going through a transition in life, relationships, career, or health status. During a difficult season in life we are more open to learning new skills and perspectives.

I have experience treating a variety of mental health and life issues. I believe in providing counseling services that meet clients wherever they may be on life's journey in a caring, supportive, non-judgmental manner. I focus on providing a holistic approach that addresses not only the mental, but the physical and spiritual aspects of client issues throughout the therapeutic process.

I believe, the single most important element of counseling is the relationship between the therapist and client. The first step is for us to work together to balance both a professional and heartfelt relationship. You'll find the office welcoming, comfortable, discreet atmosphere; where you can feel safe to discuss your needs. I serve a variety of client populations, including, youth, adolescent, adult and geriatric clients. Couples, Family, Individual and Group Therapy are a focus. Specializations: Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Anger, Parenting and Loss. Referrals for medication management can also be facilitated through my office, if desired..

My approach to counseling that life is often uncontrollable, but we can control how we respond, how we communicate, and how we navigate through complex social/personal/professional issues. I work primarily with teens, young adults, college students, and adults on a variety of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, suicide/suicidality, personality disorders, and career/workplace stressors.

Lori Paul has over 15 years combined experience in addiction & mental health. She has her B.A. in Journalism & M.A. in Sociology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Family Recovery Coach, Certified Event Interventionist & Certified Life Coach. She has Certifications from the National Council For Behavioral Health in Youth & Adult Mental Health First Aid. During her 14 year career at USAirways she was an International, Domestic & Inflight training instructor, Flight Attendant, Flight Attendant EAP Peer Counselor, & Emergency/Critical Incident Response Team that included the incidents of Flight 427 & 9/11.

Dittmar Counseling Services has been providing therapy to individuals from communities throughout Westmoreland County since 2009. From its inception, treatment for adults, adolescents, families and couples in a quiet, private setting has enabled us to create a safe environment for the development of productive therapeutic relationships to occur. Because of the practice’s growth, we have been able to include adult psychiatric medication management for individuals needing medicinal intervention as well. Hello! We are a new practice in the Irwin, PA area! We only have a few In person and tele evening sessions left at this time. We currently do not have any groups at this time but check back in the spring! We are a growing team of social workers with many years of experience in the mental health field.
