Hi! I'm Stachia (Stay-sha) and I am a trauma-focused, gender affirming therapist who is passionate about providing high quality therapy services. I am trained in a variety of therapy modalities, allowing me to be flexible in my approach in working with you to help you be your best self.

My goal is to create a connection and an atmosphere where you can feel supported and comfortable to share openly your concerns. I see individuals of all ages and stages and incorporate a range of strategies to best promote growth and healing while creating a fun and engaging experience for those younger clients.

Finding a connection, a support, and someone you can trust, is the most important element of therapeutic success. My goal is to create an environment where you feel free to express your thoughts and feelings in an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard and in confidence.

With over 30 years of clinical practice, extensive continuing education, and an emphasis on what works rather than on what’s wrong, I tailor my approach to the specific needs of each individual, couple, family, and group for whom I provide service. Using proven methods, I am able to offer, among others, supportive, interactional, brief problem-solving, cognitive-behavioral, including trauma focused cognitive-behavioral, and relational psychotherapies. Common themes among my clients are concerns related to relationship difficulties, bereavement, mood disorders including depression, anxiety, childhood behavioral problems, eating disorders, compulsive and additive behaviors, and difficulties related to specific life circumstances.

I have extensive experience as a telehealth counselor, and am able to make lasting connections and create a fun and engaging experience for those younger clients. Telehealth sessions are found to be just as effective as in-person sessions, and my goal is to tailor services uniquely for each client. We are a group practice with compassionate, licensed therapists that specialize in treating pre-teens (ages 10+), adolescents, young adults, adults and couples. We offer both in-person and telehealth counseling and offer a wide array of counseling techniques. We accept insurance. Welcome to Set Sail Counseling, a group practice located in Hershey, PA. We are excited that you’re here and considering “setting sail” on your journey toward healing! We currently have availability with our two LPCs: Stacy Dove and Stachia Lippy (telehealth only). Stachia typically utilizes CBT and/or DBT and is a gender-affirming therapist operating from a trauma-informed lens. She especially enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community and younger males (ages 18-30). She is currently in the process of credentialing with Capital Blue Cross and Highmark, so she is only able to accept clients who pay out of pocket at this time.

My approach to treatment is based in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model. I work to help you identify feelings that have an impact on your behaviors and attitudes. By identifying this string of thoughts, feelings and actions, we can work together to make changes that bring about positive outcomes in your life. At times, making changes can be difficult. Techniques of Motivational Interviewing are useful when struggling to determine what changes would be the most beneficial. I approach every session with a trauma informed attitude so events that leave an emotional imprint can be effectively explored.
