Greetings! I'm Chera, and I have focused the scope of my private practice on very specialized (and desperately underserved) groups at high risk of suicidality within our community. Since 2016 I‘ve been helping our veterans/military with PsychArmor training, later realizing no one had the backs of our law enforcement. For this reason, I earned my certification as a first responder counselor and peer support team leader/trainer to provide crisis, cumulative trauma, and emotional agility training for our first responders.

I believe each person with the support of the therapeutic relationship can develop characteristics and behaviors of their choosing, and are not defined by outside events, such as background, trauma, demographics, etc. With the support of a therapist individuals can overcome all obstacles presented in their life and become better understanding of themselves and how their past has shaped them.

My experience working with youth in various settings of teaching, counseling, and telehealth, has given me an understanding that Gen Z has their own set of challenges to navigate, different from other generations.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I help adults in NY, OR, CT, and FL who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space in which my clients feel “held,” heard, and helped. My therapeutic approach is personalized, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. My practice is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and utilizes a range of techniques including awareness of sensations in the body, narrative interventions, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.

As a therapist with 40 years of experience, I've helped hundreds of people overcome their challenges. Whether it's anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, difficulty finding the right life partner, or loss and grief resulting from a separation or death, I have the counseling skills and experience to help you solve your problems. You don't have to feel stressed from repeating old patterns that no longer work. Counseling with me can bring more joy and fulfillment into your life. I'm also specialized in and love working with couples. In addition I am trained in EMDR, a protocol for resolving trauma.

With a compassionate, genuine, and non judgemental approach, my goal is to see individuals and couples working toward a happier, healthier life. Often, we hold deep beliefs about ourselves and others that do not serve us. Those beliefs can hold us back from achieving our best life. I work to facilitate healing in those who are struggling to find peace with themselves and in their relationships. I believe our relationships affect our lives in nearly every aspect and healthy relationships are born from healthy individuals. I enjoys working with individuals and couples to identify what their goals are and work towards harmony.

I believe that within each individual is the possibility for an optimum life complete with health, balance and well-being.
