Hello, I'm Jacob, and I'm dedicated to helping you on your journey to better mental health. My counseling approach starts with understanding your core challenges. I will then partner with you to find practical solutions and help you build effective coping skills to empower you to overcome obstacles. I strongly emphasize fostering open and honest communication during our counseling sessions. It's a two-way street – your candid sharing and my honest feedback form the foundation of our therapeutic journey.

I guide my clients to identify the emotions behind protective reaction. This improves their ability to recognize emotional needs, communicate more effectively, and begin leading a life within their conscious mind. Adversity and trauma can lead to chronic emotional deregulation, and through emotion focused therapy, DBT, mindfulness and psycho education I guide clients through the healing process. Attachment wounds and painful life experiences can lead to living in chronic protection mode. Through collaboration, compassion, and acceptance, I guide my clients to deeper connection; not only with others, but also with themselves.

I provide dynamic psychotherapy. This means we look for hidden patterns in behavior and emotional experience in order to understand ourselves and others while alleviating psychological tension.

I enjoy working with people on all kinds of issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family conflict, trauma-related issues, and more. I have lots of experience working with children and youth who have a trauma history as well as children and youth who have problem sexual behaviors. I also really enjoy working with families and couples who are experiencing various forms of conflict. As a systemic couples, individual and family counselor, my interactive treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to assist clients as we resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. Couples are traumatized when infidelity is discovered and the clinician needs to help the couple implement immediate steps to prevent further damage to the relationship. Counselor strategies for infidelity are much different than what a traditional counselor would utilize. When couples set up an appointment with me, they will get in quickly, and experience a specific treatment approach for infidelity. I also help couples with creating intimate communication, conflict skills, creating emotional and sexual intimacy, and increasing love and affection.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in strengthening relationships in children, teens and adults with anxiety, depression and behavioral difficulties, I have been providing clients with the means to express their concerns through Trauma Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Therapy. Hi! I'm Julia and I graduated with my Master's in Social Work from Miami University in May 2023. I am currently working as a Licensed Social Worker at Integrative Counseling Solutions. In graduate school, I provided counseling to nursing home residents which expanded my knowledge of grief, mood disorders, social policies affecting health care, and challenges faced by older adult residents. While I enjoyed working with the older population, my current role has allowed me experience the joys of working with adolescent and adults of all ages.
