I help my clients by first creating a safe and trusting environment because therapy can be scary sometimes! Things we may work on initially are becoming aware of symptoms related to the experienced problem, understanding the implications of the stressor(s), developing and utilizing coping skills, and understanding connections between thoughts and behaviors using CBT modality.

I have helped clients manage their mental health in school, community and inpatient settings. I am a dual diagnosis therapist (mental health/addictions) who specializes in trauma-based treatments related to anxiety, PTSD, utilizing EMDR and other therapies. I find meeting my clients where they are, helps develop a collaborative approach to reaching maximum potential. I am currently a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of OH and have inactive licenses for professional counseling in Pennsylvania and Nevada and clinical drug and alcohol issues in the state of NV. I work with individuals age 16+ with various presenting concerns. I strongly believe that every individual’s story should be shared and validated, and by providing a person-centered and non-judgmental environment we can facilitate desired change and growth together.

I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Akron and am a Licensed Independent Social Worker as well as a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Ohio. I have experience providing counseling services to individuals over the age of eighteen. I have worked in community treatment centers, both inpatient and outpatient for Substance Use Disorders as well as private practice with a focus on mental health. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, stress management, and alcohol and other substance use disorders.

Therapy and change can be incredibly uncomfortable. Finding a therapist who you can connect with in navigating these changes can be equally as difficult. I am here to guide you through the uncomfortable parts, provide space, and when all else fails, utilize humor. I am passionate about supporting people who suffer from eating disorders, trauma, and issues within their own family systems. I come to the therapeutic relationship from an integrated psychodynamic, CBT, and family systems lens.
