My work is informed by queer and feminist theory, somatic psychology, and neurobiology.
Are you feeling stuck? Disconnected from you desires? Confused? Have you struggled with feeling different or building satisfying relationships? Strong, loving relationships are essential to wellbeing. No relationship is more important than the one you have with yourself. I want to help you achieve better integration of mind and body through self-compassion, acceptance, mindfulness, and embodiment. I have specialized experience working with LGBQ, Trans, Poly/ENM, GNC/NB, Kinky, and Sex Working individuals. While I don't accept insurance I do offer sliding scale services to individuals $40-$150 based on need.

I'm a neurodivergent queer feminist artist & collector of all things Gritty, so if you're hoping to find a therapist who's an authentic, sensitive & relatable oddball, I'm eager to learn about your therapy needs.
I help free spirits & square pegs who are struggling socially, emotionally, academically or professionally find their spark & rekindle confidence. You're sensitive, offbeat, maybe queer or 2e, a bit of a rebellious streak, and feel stuck, like you're "not living up to your potential." If you're the caregiver for a kid whose light has dimmed, or a young person who's sad, anxious or overwhelmed, I can help you find a path forward that allows you to be yourself, make the most of your strengths, and live your best life. My approach prioritizes care, compassion, creativity & authenticity, tailored to your needs.

New motherhood is, for many people, a time of joy. It can also be a time of stress and conflicting emotions. All of the expectations and pressure can be a lot to deal with. This especially true now during the COVID-19 pandemic! If you want to talk with someone who "gets it," if you or someone you care about are pregnant, have recently had a baby, or have older children and do not like the way you are feeling or just find that you would like some extra support, please give me a call! I also welcome clients dealing with issues not related to motherhood or parenting, such as stress, life transitions, depression, and anxiety.

Hello! I'm an LMFT who is passionate about helping people establish and maintain meaningful connections in their lives through familial, peer, and intimate relationships. I’m trained systemically and enjoy helping people explore how various aspects of their lives (e.g., family upbringing, societal influences, personal experiences) influence the way they make meaning of their lives. I take a collaborative approach with clients to identify sustainable solutions to old and new problems, and I specialize in eating disorders (HAES-informed), sexual orientation, trauma, and ADHD.

Immediate evening openings. Are you ready for change? I believe that I can help you normalize what you are feeling by reframing and looking at your bigger picture. You are NOT what you are going through or what you have been through. I have a passion for working with all women of color but specifically Black women and couples (Private pay only). I have extensive experience working with many populations. I am not your average clinical therapist. I have “girlfriend” sessions where we talk about your life and I have the knowledge, both in professionally and personally, to suggest mindset or action change to help you do and feel better.

My ideal client is one who is willing to explore uncomfortable areas in their life and understand that vulnerability is part of the process. One of the most important parts of therapy to me is highlighting accountability and what roles we play in our own lives. I enjoy working with clients who are struggling with relationship issues, self-esteem, irrational thinking, and life adjustments. A client who can pinpoint what they would like to improve in their life and request a little bit of guidance along the way is an ideal client. Their goal is not to be perfect but to improve their day-to-day life a little more each day.

Feminist Therapists

How does feminist therapy work?

Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.

What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?

Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.

How long does feminist therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

Does feminist therapy work?

As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
