I am a clinical psychologist with a background in utilizing evidence based practice with individuals across the life span and functioning spectrum, including elite athletes, individuals with clinical psychopathology, and individuals interested in exploring their self-identity. I seek to create a collaborative therapeutic environment, in which I empower clients to better understand themselves, while assisting them to strengthen the skills necessary for elite performance and functioning. In my practice, I incorporate cognitive and behavioral strategies, in addition to mindfulness, acceptance, and interpersonal approaches.

Not just talk, talk, talk that gets you nowhere. I used evidence-based treatments so that you're feeling better soon. As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT), and a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT), I'm trained in many addictions, including substances. Most therapists aren't trained in all these issues. I offer EMDR, as well. There is hope. Together, we'll figure things out.

The individuals that I work well with are typically experiencing depression or anxiety, or having trouble adjusting to life changes. Navigating a relationship without effective communication is usually what brings couples to me. I then help them develop stronger friendship and intimacy and manage conflict more effectively. As a Licensed Psychologist in North Carolina and New Hampshire, I focus on providing individual psychotherapy and psychological/educational assessment. I work with those from 18 + who struggle with a variety of life challenges and issues. I am a Certified ADHD Clinical Services Specialist and Certified as an Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional. I use an integrative treatment approach that is client-focused and flexible, incorporating elements of mindfulness-based, insight-oriented and skills-based modalities to help guide clients toward their best self and to make positive life changes.

My name is Tameka McFarland. I treat individuals, couples who are dating, planning to get married, currently married, or are considering divorce. I will treat emotional concerns that are affecting intimacy between a client and their partner. I provide support to families who have concerns about parenting. I will see any client ages 16 and up of all ethnicities and sexual orientations. My ideal client would be a couple or family, however, when seeing individuals, I encourage that the client bring another support person that they trust to their sessions. I also provide life coaching services. Telehealth services are also offered.

On the other hand, feeling lost, misunderstood, disconnected, and overwhelmed can be extremely isolating. Whether this is due to trauma, life transitions, identity, relationships, dysfunctional family dynamics, anxious/depressive thoughts, etc. I know how hard it is to feel alone. Therapy can be a great tool to know yourself fully, work through those isolating experiences and feelings, and ultimately live more authentically.
