I enjoy working with couples and families. I have been very successful in using a communication approach when working with couples. I have worked with attachment issues since I started counseling in 2000. I am especially excited about working with families in a group setting in order to deal with major issues that are occurring. I am experienced in systemic counseling and group work of all kinds.

What's wrong? . . . I don't know . . . This is a common conversation parents and children have. "I don't know" can leave everyone feeling frustrated and hopeless. The full range of emotions are overwhelming and it is understandable this is their response. I hope to offer a safe space, for children and teens, to feel respected and supported as they navigate their parent's divorce, transitions in school, friendships, or being a member of the LGBTQIA+ communities. There are also opportunities for parents to participate through parenting education, co-parenting classes, and joint sessions with their children.

I am focusing at this time on with elementary school children and their families. I work a great deal with foster and adoptive families and those who are struggles with systems and economics that make parenting particularly difficult. The goal of therapy for my clients is for me to help them, help themselves, through whatever struggle they are going through. The ideal client will want to attend therapy consistently and be motivated to problem solve their needs which are unique to them. The goal is for the identified client to optimize their functioning by learning effective coping skills to manage their identified difficulties. I believe that learning and using coping skills, changing thinking patterns and processing struggles is helpful for my client(s) to learn and walk through in this process.
