My approach to therapy includes exploring our past experience, present circumstances, and future goals. I strive to create a non-judgmental, compassionate, and collaborative space for my clients. I have been a licensed masters level therapist for 6 years. My experience includes anxiety, depression, trauma, EMDR, substance use disorder, eating disorder, self esteem, body image, perinatal mental health, and parenting. Before becoming an LPCC I worked with severe and persistent mental health in residential settings.

I believe each person deserves to live the best life possible. Often, that can be a challenge due to difficult things that have happened in the past or current challenges we face. Trauma and hurt effect how we view the world and ourselves. I work with individuals in including teens and adults, as well as couples, to help them get to a better place in their life. We will work together to figure out how move through current and past challenges more effectively so that hope and ease become a part of everyday life.

My passion is working with individuals with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring substance use concerns along with an array of mental health disorders. I have a specific passion working with those who have experienced trauma or have been diagnosed/have concerns related to a personality disorder. I have worked with individuals with both substance and sexual addictions and find great passion in being able to work with individuals to help them implement changes and shape their lives towards a life worth enjoying.

I have 20 years' combined experience working with culturally, ethnically and generationally diverse clients in therapy, chemical use, restorative justice, and counseling children and families in need. I'm dedicated to enthusiastic, respectful and dynamic interactions as a means of creating and nurturing community interest. As a psychotherapist and LADC, I've worked with adults, adolescents, and families from all walks of life. My goal is to foster well-being in individuals and families. I seek to eliminate the stigma of shame and guilt associated with mental health and substance use, which leads to understanding, respectful conversations that enable healing.

As a Licensed Psychologist, Cheri focuses on helping individuals heal from a variety of life struggles from a holistic viewpoint that all parts of a person’s life is intertwined and affect each other. I believe that everyone has the chance to heal and live a life that is rewarding to them. A main point of interest is treating trauma, addiction, eating disorders & co-occurring disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma-based symptoms. In addition, her practice includes psychological evaluations encompassing ADHD testing, learning disabilities, achievement testing and personality testing to aid in diagnosing and treatment.

Being a person can be hard! I have been in the counseling and psychology field for the past 20 years. I know that it is difficult to ask for help. However, people sometimes need additional support beyond their family and friends. I work with, adults and adolescents that experience low self-esteem, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, addiction, trauma, and have trouble regulating their emotions. If you are a parent looking for services for your child, I am a registered play therapist and I will work with your child to resolve fears, worries, sadness, and build healthy esteem and assist you in providing on-going support to your child.

I have a few immediate openings- As a therapist, I work with people to develop a safe and trusting relationship. I focus on developing a strong relationship where we can partner together wherever this journey takes them.
