Camille Thayer LCPC-c is a conditionally licensed Clinical Professional Counselor at New England Family Institute, She has pursued an area of expertise in Family Systems as well as acquired her certification in Telehealth services. Her previous coursework included Counseling Children and Adolescents and has experience working with clients and who have survived trauma. Camille acquired certification for training in Trauma Work as well as IFS techniques. Camille also completed an Externship and certification for training in Emotion Focused Therapy.

I have been in practice since 2001, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression. I will work with children over 10, adolescents and adults. I'll work with individuals, couples and families. I believe that therapists are like shoes...some fit and some don't, and sometimes it could be the right shoe for the wrong occasion. I have had the opportunity to work for 36 years with Individual adults and adolescents, couples, families, and groups. The issues of trauma, loss, life changes, depression and anxiety are so much a part of all of our lives. Levels of stress complicate conversations, disconnect relationships, decrease self care, and interfere with our happiness. Finding balance is what this therapy can offer. Imagine sitting and talking with no judgement, confronting your own past and finding a new present. Working together we will undo old messages which have run your emotions and influenced your behaviors and create new ones you choose to live by.

I have been working in this field for over 15 years and although my specialties are substance use disorders and trauma, I support anyone who is struggling with life stressors, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and other challenges in day-to-day life. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, acceptance, and commitment therapy, and am certified as a dialectical behavioral therapist to support those who strive to create a healthy and balanced way of life.

I am a licensed clinical social worker providing individual, family and couples counseling. I have been working in the field and as a therapist for more than 10 years. I have extensive training and expertise in working with children, adolescents, adults and geriatric populations. I have been nationally trained to provide specific and positive outcome based treatments in areas of trauma, depression, and anxiety. Other areas of interest include anger management, behavioral issues, parenting, relationship issues, chronic pain, grief and women's issues. My approach is collaborative and includes elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal, mindfulness and strength based.

I have worked in this field for over 30 years in hospital, residential, day treatment, outpatient and home settings. My experience is primarily with young adults and with families who have children with special needs whether neurotypical or behavioral. I have worked with a lot of adolescents and pre-teens who are having difficulty adjusting to the demands of individuation and separation. It is important to regard everyone's life situation as unique and to support the process of personal awareness and growth.

So much of the stress we feel in life can come from relationships and situations that do not make sense to us. Perhaps you have a sense that “something is just not right” in those dynamics, but you cannot figure out what it is. You may notice that you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, distracted and depressed, and you feel at a loss for how to change that. My passion is working with folks who are wanting to shift those confusing dynamics and heal from the negative impact of them.

I work with all age groups in individual, couples, and family therapy. I am trained in Functional Family Therapy which focuses on observing and breaking conflict cycles that are no longer serving you or your relationships. I am also trained as a Gottman level 2 therapist which I utilize in my couples work. My relational approach translates well for all ages and for a range of presenting concerns for treatment. My particular areas of specialty are working with adolescents, couples, and adult women. Modalities often used in my sessions include CBT, ARC, Attachment Theory, ACT, FFT, and Gottman Methods.

I strive to support adults as they encounter difficulties and questions about life transitions i.e. divorce, retirement, health concerns, aging, empty nesting or dying. Anxiety, depression and grief can be normal reactions to these transitions and can distract from healthy living. Healing and growth can happen using relationship, thoughtful introspection, understanding, respect and even humor. I love the Buddhist quote, 'pain is inevitable but suffering is optional'. I have over 20 years of work experience in the trauma field- working with both survivors and perpetrators of abuse.

My name is Coleen Lehigh and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor working in private practice here in Saco Maine. My 15 years in the communication field, extensive life experience and clinical training provide a comprehensive foundation for my dynamic and holistic counseling. I have experience treating adolescents, adults, and couples struggling with mood disorders, relationship issues, grief and codependency.
