Nancy Keating is a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker in private practice in Lutherville, MD. Having trained at one of the country's top psychiatric hospitals, Sheppard Pratt, she holds an MSW Degree from the University of Maryland and is licensed to practice in Maryland and Florida. With twenty-five plus years experience treating individual adults and couples, her primary interests lie in healing the "self-abandonment" she sees as an underlying factor in most of the concerns her clients present in treatment. She is available for office therapy sessions locally, as well as confidential video sessions in MD & FL.

I was an ICU and ER nurse for many years before becoming a psychologist, and this experience gave me a unique understanding of the important role that healthy emotional functioning plays in our physical well-being and relationships. I specialize in the treatment of adults struggling with anxiety, heightened stress, grief, and interpersonal conflicts/crises. If attempts to resolve a personal problem have been unsuccessful or if conflicts in your relationship are ongoing, I seek to provide the personal support, insight and guidance needed to find a positive resolution, and the skills needed to live a healthier, more satisfying life.

My ideal client is someone who is finished with doing the same things over-and-over and expecting different results. My clients are ready and committed to change. I am a hands-on therapist who has seen and experienced a lot in life. These experiences allow me to speak from a voice of understanding and empathy. For best results, my clients should be willing to share, listen and do the homework necessary to achieve the results desired. I also welcome those clients who would like a therapist who is just willing to listen & lend an ear.

In therapy, there is no "one size fits all!" I work with adults, adolescents and children on an individual basis on many issues, especially issues of loss, trauma, depression and anxiety. Many people suffering from these issues also develop substance abuse, eating disorders and phobias. I believe therapy is a collaboration of therapist and client to understand and treat the issues that keep you from living the life you want.
