My approach to doing therapy is different for each person who comes to me, so it's hard to describe what being in therapy with me is like. My training and background is broadly psychoanalytic, but I am pretty sure I am more interactive than most other therapists with my training and orientation. I am supportive, direct in my way of talking about problems, and have a good sense of humor.
One strong assumption for me is that people are the "experts" in their own lives (despite how they may feel in the first meeting). My role is to help people understand themselves more deeply. Therapy with me is a process of learning to listen to yourself more deeply.
I do psychological testing, specifically comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations with children and teens (and adults). While I do not take insurance directly, I will file a claim if you have out-of-network benefits.
