I specialize in helping people navigate through relationship issues, life transitions, grief/loss, and women’s issues specifically. I also work with the military population on issues related to deployment and marriage/relationships. My counseling approach is nondirective, which means that I will meet you in a nonjudgmental way, listen to what you would like help with, and work with you to set realistic and attainable goals. I also use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to help you restructure any unhelpful/untrue thoughts that you may be having. You may be surprised to learn that we will use humor in our sessions too!
I use strengths-based coaching which utilizes/uncovers tools and abilities that you already have, in addition to teaching new skills. I love to work with people in transition who want a change and it just isn't happening. I also work with women on a variety of issues including navigating relationships and pre/post-partum issues.
I have been a Licensed Clinical Counselor for 18 years and a Board Certified Life Coach for 9. My passion for Coaching, combined with my strong background in Counseling is a great setup for strengths-based, insight-oriented work together. I work in a group with 4 other clinicians with similar skill sets and treatment approaches in case I am currently full.
