Amelia Hess is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing under licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Becky Milks. Amelia received her Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2022 and has been in practice at Awakenings since January of 2023. She is accepting new clients. Amelia's therapeutic interests include working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, and more. Caroline focuses on the impact of life's later chapters when working with seniors, their adult children, and caregivers. She works with clients 18 and over to recognize and develop personal strengths, process grief, navigate life's twists and turns, and provide support in healing generational wounds. Caroline works with individuals, couples and families to address, conflict, anxiety, depression, sleep disruption, neurodivergence, healthcare hurdles, long-standing mental health challenges, or new symptoms. Her approach is grounded in curiosity, comfort, kindness, and clarity.

I am a co-owner and co-founder of an integrated mental health agency in Lawrence, KS. I got into the field of mental health to tackle the tough cases, to facilitate healing and growth for people at all stages of life, to have fun and do meaningful, transformative work in the process. I have a comprehensive academic background in therapy, theories of change, psychology, neuroscience, and related areas.
