I work with adults struggling with relationship issues, addiction, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Many of my clients have had difficult childhoods and are curious how therapy can help to reduce their suffering, heal from past traumas, and learn healthier ways of attachment. I use elements of EMDR therapy in my approach. I am kink allied and sex positive. I invite you to come as you are. I will respect, support, and encourage you during our time in therapy.

Are you finding yourself burnt out? Feeling stuck, isolated, or traumatized by current or historical events? We feel the pressure to better this world but struggle with feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness. At times like these, it is vital to reclaim spaces of joy, safety, and connection within ourselves and the world around us. I am a queer, Jewish, immigrant with firsthand experience of needing to reclaim self within larger narratives of oppression and isolation. I know that this process can often involve navigating trauma and grief, and none of us can do this alone.

I am Jewish, offer affirming and informed care to those within the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC populations, and specialize in treating children and adolescents.
Life can be difficult, painful, wonderful, confusing, and more. As a therapist it is my goal to provide space in this complicated world for people to feel seen and heard, learn about their difficulties and create positive change. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I am most interested in helping clients understand how environmental dynamics of past and present have come to impact a person, then learn to shift from unhelpful to more helpful patterns of living. Those I have worked with often tell me that I am honest, caring, silly, and “down to Earth”.

I am a queer, Jewish, white, cis-gender woman who was raised in the PNW.
During our work together, we will be doing just that - working together! In our sessions I'll help you to identify what you (and your partner, if couples therapy) would like to see improved and how you visualize yourself, your relationship, and really your life by the end of therapy. From there I help you to recognize patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. My approach to helping you in this process is through a ‘person-centered’ therapeutic lens, as I trust that you are the expert in your life and that I am here to help you to understand your potential for positive change and to help facilitate that change.

Are you seeking your truth? Feeling stuck? Do you want a therapist who really gets you? Perhaps you are part of a relationship or polycule, seeking to work on communication and intimacy in a non-judgemental environment. I am an art therapist and counselor working with individual adults and relationships from a person-centered lense. As an artist, DJ, and Jewish trans woman (free Palestine!) I know how important it can be to have a therapist who has lived experience on the margins. Using a warm and direct approach, I support people in the process of living their truths, creating the life and relationships that are genuine to them.

It's been my honor to work for the last decade with people struggling with eating disorders, and I'm passionate about exploring the expansive possibilities of healing. Recovery is "non-linear," so each person's process has its own complexities, timing, and map. But many courageous people have gone before in this process, so that we have an ever-deepening understanding of how to achieve lasting freedom from EDs. I offer ED care to adolescents age 13+ using the FBT model and to adults of all ages using an integrative approach. I also specialize in working with chronic illness, disability, and Jewish teens and adults.

Why can’t I just be happy? Why is everything so difficult? Is life just endless suffering? Most of us are trying to rid ourselves of our anxiety by avoiding frightening situations and shielding ourselves from uncomfortable experiences. In doing so, our existence often becomes narrow and tedious. But what if we could learn to make room for the inevitable pains that life confronts us with and accept the experiences we cannot control. If we can become more psychologically flexible, we can then be present and do what matters most to us.

Things don’t have to feel this way forever. I work with adults who struggle with feelings of depression and anxiety, and who feel lost in life. Life is challenging, and those challenges often become part of who we are, following us and continuing to haunt us long after they have passed. These things can feel so intertwined with who we are that it feels impossible to see the world without them. Let's work together to find new ways of meeting your goals and exploring your life.

I love working with individuals, as well as couples. I have a lot of experience working with queer, non-heteronormative, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ clients, but that is not to say that I don’t love working with people who do not identify within those marginalized identities as well! I enjoy working with those who want to learn more about how to manage anxiety and panic disorder, engage with attachment disorders/historical ruptures, and childhood trauma. Check out my website for more details: www.cognitivecongruence.com

Finding a therapist can be challenging because of that I am a conduit for hope and healing to you as your therapist. Therapy is a collaborative process that involves openness & receptivity founded on the desire to change for the better. It is within your reach. Sometimes life will throw a curveball and we find ourselves getting off track. That is where I step in and help you realign yourself to your true purpose in life and in the process of doing so new discoveries are made and new pathways are created. It is the stumbling upon, the revelations, the insights that help us grow and change. I am humbled to be a part of the process.

**NEW CLIENTS - Please email me** No one deserves to live in pain. For therapy to work, you need three things: curiosity about yourself and your interactions with others, an authentic connection with your therapist, and concrete, practical tools and skills to promote real and lasting change. My job is to facilitate an understanding of what is causing you pain and getting in your way of creating your best life. As your therapist, I don’t “just listen.” I use an integrative approach, combining several modalities to create the most effective treatment for each client. I practice remote therapy with individual adults.

Jewish Therapists

Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?

Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same background to be able to work together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of cultural forces, such as discrimination, that may contribute to that client’s concerns. With a professional who has such training, a client should feel comfortable discussing sensitive issues without feeling that they need to self-censor.

How can I recognize an effective Jewish therapist?

As with members of any religious or ethnic group, just because two people happen to be Jewish does not guarantee that they will share the same values, knowledge, or experiences. A Jewish client seeking a therapist who shares their cultural identity, or for whom it’s important that a therapist share their religious beliefs, may want to discuss a professional’s Jewish background with them before beginning therapy. For someone who seeks justification for major life changes in their religious tradition, or in biblical writings, finding a therapist who is comfortable framing guidance in that context may be especially valuable.

Would a Jewish therapist have unique training?

No, but they should have the same training and certification as any other mental health professional, as well as experience with a range of evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or mindfulness-based therapy. A therapist with this type of experience should be able to help any client feel comfortable and safe, which is essential for a therapeutic alliance. Once this is established, a potential client may want to find out more about the therapist’s Jewish background.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with Jewish clients?

A client can directly ask a therapist if they have extensive experience working with Jewish clients and if so, whether these individuals sought counseling for faith-related issues or marital or familial issues in which their Jewish background was a factor. A client may also wish to ask a potential therapist whether they incorporate Jewish teachings and values into their own professional work.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Jewish therapists?

The directory of Jewish therapists includes professionals who have opted to share their cultural background on their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose their background, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Jewish clients and/or communities.
