At Sage Creek Therapy we believe the relationship between the client and the therapist is the most important component of the counseling process. We do not believe in a "one size fits all" way of therapy. Everyone brings their own unique story and we work in a professional relationship with our clients to achieve the goals they set for themselves. We provide services for a variety of issues and concerns including anxiety, depression, addiction, abuse, co-dependency, infertility, relationship concerns, grief, and trauma.

I believe it takes much courage and strength to seek therapy. I respect and appreciate you, reading this, as these character traits have brought you here. I work with clients who are ready and willing to step out of the uncomfortable nature of their comfort zone and into growth and progression. I understand it takes a genuine, accepting, and supportive environment in which to explore and navigate through life's challenges. My goal is to create this for all clients and to assist clients on their personal journey of self-discovery and healing by treating each person as an unique individual and addressing their needs accordingly.

Elena is experienced working with individuals on the Autism spectrum, and has a passion for transition youth at risk. With strength-based interventions she hopes to empower her clients to their fullest potential; adding in play therapy, somatic approaches to foster an engaging and accepting therapeutic environment. With the four languages she speaks, she hopes to continue to bring access to counseling services to various communities in need by proving Telehealth to clients living in rural areas.

We are all involved in a myriad of transitions and changes that are impacting you individually, within your families, at work and in your schools. We are caught up in societal conflict, having to make daily decisions that impact our lives, feeling anxious about the present and future and coping with the best skills that we all have to meet the situation.

Relationships tend to be the greatest source of both stress and joy in our lives. Whether you're enduring conflict in your marriage, with family, or children the disconnection can feel debilitating. Together we can explore the dynamics that are the source of that pain and, either as a couple or individual, breaking through the stagnation of painful conflict to find peace and connection. Specifically, with couples I appreciate and deeply understand the painful issues that are connected with sexual relationships and have tailored my education around incorporating that focus.

I believe that everything we do in life comes from experiences that’ve shaped us.Depending on the intensity of the event & how our body perceives it, it’ll be logged into our nervous system as a safe or an unsafe experience.Our bodies at the basic level want to feel safe and will create behaviors (healthy/unhealthy) to protect us.For most, when we feel bad later about our behaviors, this means our body perceived the event as a threat.We’ll explore with a curious mindset why this is happening and boundaries that can be put in place.We will evaluate /decipher what coping skills/behaviors are harmful and re-program them in your body.

I come from the Rosebud Lakota people in South Dakota and have lived here in Boise since 1993. I have primarily worked helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma, parenting issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I hope to help clients align their thoughts, values, and actions to find true contentment and satisfaction with life. I have a strong background in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I use client-centered, attachment-based, and narrative approaches, and often use psychoeducation to help clients process. I have a strong belief that everyone has strengths to pull from when dealing with challenges in life.

It is my belief that we are are designed to heal through relationships. I am a therapist, but foremost, I am a person who engages others in conversations in attempt to make their lives better. It is my goal to use my skills to help open doors for others to see their own strengths, to feel empowered, and to become liberated. Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been called to serve and help others navigate their way through this journey called life. I have plenty of years of experience working with individuals from all walks of life. I would classify myself as an eclectic individual and approach situations from various lenses. I do however, specialize in trauma informed care. I am EMDR trained and believe in meeting people where they are, providing unconditional positive regard and finding congruence within each story. Katie is a Pocatello native and is passionate about finding ways to better serve her community. She began working in providing mental health services to families and individuals from the Pocatello area after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boise State University in 2008. She soon learned that she was limited in her scope of practice and felt that she could do more to service her community by completing a degree in counseling.
