I have many years of experience helping couples and individuals in how to resolve conflicts relating to infertility, pregnancy, postpartum mood disorders.
There is nothing I enjoy more than helping people improve their lives and relationships; feel less stressed and more content. I take a down-to-earth approach that focuses on your particular needs, desires and goals. Then we come up with a plan for how to enable you to meet your goals. This involves finding out what is blocking you from having the kind of life you want, and taking the steps to overcome those obstacles. Once you understand the source of your difficulties, and have an ally to help you make the necessary changes, anything is possible.

Offering online sessions. Being a woman comes with high expectations, and the pressure to be perfect in every aspect of life can feel all consuming. Juggling career, fertility, parenting, and relationships is hard enough, and trying to manage it all can leave us feeling entirely drained. On top of that, old wounds from the past sometimes sneak up, adding additional anxiety. And when getting pregnant turns out to be harder than expected, it’s easy to feel like our bodies are betraying us. It happens so easily for others, yet month after month the pregnancy test continues coming back negative. We may begin to feel like we're failing.

People's stories are one of the most valuable things we have in life. If you want to have a meaningful relationship with someone, you need to be able to understand your own story. Helping individuals to develop and enhance their personal stories is at the crux of my work as a therapist. We all have public and private lives, and I believe the power of developing the stories behind these separate selves is how people vividly change their lives.

I work with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and Complex PTSD, especially those who feel emotionally overwhelmed, have difficulty setting boundaries, feel disconnected from themselves, and struggle with rescuing/fixing others at their expense. I have a passion for working with those struggling with codependency and perfectionism, including patterns of self-abandonment, avoidance, low self-esteem, denial, control, and compliance in relationships. I assist in existential exploration of purpose, meaning, values and identity. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and actively work towards fostering an anti-oppressive lens.

Overwhelm washes over you when the world feels confusing and chaotic. Life challenges begin stacking up and complexity becomes too much. You can see your patterns but have no idea how to free yourself. You tried talk therapy and it helped a little but something is still missing. You know there's got to be something different out there.

About me: I specialize in women's issues, trauma, relationships, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. About you: You are intelligent, sensitive, and high-functioning. You appear to others as though you have it all together, but inside, something's not working. Perhaps this manifests physically, as insomnia or chronic tension. Sometimes it's more internal: anxiety or depression, indecision, heaviness, or an inability to move past a traumatic event. You seek answers to life's biggest questions, but sometimes have trouble hearing your own inner wisdom. You wish to feel more ease, more clarity, more connection, more meaning.

Coming to therapy is a tremendous step to facilitate change. I provide an empathic and understanding environment to help clients work through their problems. My biggest hope is to help you create a deeper awareness of yourself in order to nurture the relationship within, and with those around you. I view therapy as a collaborative process and relationship. I believe that you are the expert of your own life. I welcome feedback! If you’re ever wondering where we’re going, or what I’m doing - please ask. The therapeutic process should not be a secret, and I’m happy to share information with you along the way.

Infertility Therapists

How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?

Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?

The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?

Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?

There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
