Christin DeCoito, was born and raised in Hilo where she grew passionate about helping others in her community. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools Hawaii, she later received her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UH Hilo. She ventured a little ways out of Hilo, where she currently lives on the Hamakua coast with her loving family and growing two little boys. Christins experience stems from working directly with students as a school based behavioral health specialist since 2017.

I believe that even the most challenging and difficult experiences can be used as catalysts for creating positive change and growth. Providing solution focused support with a strengths-based practice I strive to educate and create ownership around ability for growth with my clients. I focus on building comfort with discomfort, gaining skills and obtaining resilience to manage emotions and stress. My treatment approach is client centered with specific intent to identify client’s strengths and tailor treatment to fit their needs, background and personality.
