Life can be challenging and change is inevitable, and with transitions there are many aspects to growth and loss. I work with individuals, couples, and family systems; often dealing with unprocessed grief, trauma, parenting, identity issues, and midlife decisions. It takes courage to communicate the strong emotions felt within these difficult topics, especially to those you love the most. I prioritize holding a non-judgmental space for these strong emotions to be seen, heard, and liberated.

I provide virtual sessions in Nevada and Washington. Consultation times available to book directly from my website. Imagine a day when you felt like you, and you truly knew who that was. Where you didn't feel overworked and stressed. Where you could say no without overthinking about what someone else would think. Where you had control over your time and energy. Where worry wasn't your motivation. Where you felt rested and calm. Doesn't it sound like a dream?

As far as anyone can tell, you’ve got it all together. But on the inside you never feel good enough and your inner critic is quick to remind you of all the ways you’re failing. You are the friend that everyone depends on and confides in, but deep down you feel like no one really knows you. You secretly feel lonely and isolated. No one knows about the anxiety you’ve been experiencing, or about how you have trouble sleeping because you can’t keep your mind from racing. You feel weak when something happens that you can’t handle.

We've all heard the saying: communication is key. But when we have feelings for someone, critical conversations can be hard to start. Our minds go blank, we become hyper-focused on our partner, and leaving the room can feel like the safest option. I work with individuals to help them strengthen communication and explore a deeper, healthier connection in their relationships.

Clients often come to me when they've experienced trauma, intense anxiety, or challenges related to their identity. Many are going through major life transitions, whether in their careers, relationships, or personal lives. These struggles are sometimes rooted in complex cultural and social factors, especially for those in the BIPOC or LGBTQ communities. They might grapple with self-doubt, unhelpful beliefs, or trouble managing their emotions and relationships. I’m here to offer the support and tools they need to work through these challenges and find clarity and growth

How often do you feel disconnected from yourself: from your body, your wisdom, your light? We are quick to disconnect when we feel overwhelmed, when we've lost our sense of safety, and when we aren't listening to or honoring our needs. When we're disconnected, we're not fully present and it can feel like life is passing us by. Joy, contentment, and wonder might seem like only a distant mirage--but I believe that becoming more aligned in ourselves is always possible. It's an important part of finding meaningful connection with others, realizing our purpose, and trusting ourselves so we can move through life with more ease.

My approach is rooted in trauma-informed and liberation-focused practices and is influenced by my training in relational psychology. I believe relationship plays a foundational role in our formation - the relationships we have with other people as well as the systems and environments we find ourselves in can have a profound impact on us. We often experience wounding through relationship but can also experience immense growth and healing through relationship, both with ourself and with others.

I love to help people who are straddling cultures and have a complex relationship with duty and autonomy. So many of us have internalized beliefs around what we are supposed to be doing and how we are supposed to live our lives but haven’t had a chance to sit down and workshop whether this is congruent with our overall goals and wants for ourselves. When we don’t take the time and space to heal the inner child and build self confidence to live our best lives, things like anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity can creep in keeping us feeling stuck.

Each person possesses the innate ability to learn, grow, and make meaningful changes in their personal lives, relationships, and circumstances. In my practice, I strive to help individuals explore and understand the thought patterns and behaviors that may be influencing their lives, often in ways they aren't fully aware of. Many times, these unconscious patterns can lead to repetitive behaviors, creating dissatisfaction and emotional challenges. I believe that every individual has the potential to grow from both their positive and negative experiences, and it is my goal to support clients in discovering their own paths.

Often by the time clients reach me, they have needed help for a long time. Some have trouble identifying and talking about their emotions. Others may be struggling to manage intense distress, caught in unhelpful thinking patterns. Many find that their problems are linked with dissatisfaction in important relationships, and may feel disconnected even from people they know well. Often, people try to cope with these problems by engaging in unhealthy behaviors that they want to stop but can't figure out how. The first step in our therapy is to get clarity about what the main problems really are, and to identify therapy goals.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
