My background is relational psychoanalytic in nature and founded on the premise that healing occurs within the context of a safe and consistent relationship that allows for the exploration and expression of your true self.
Early experiences of trauma or other difficult life experiences can cause us to lose touch with our innermost selves, leading to suffering, feelings of isolation and disconnection. Depression, anxiety, loneliness, relationship problems, and lack of purpose often result from difficulty knowing ourselves and forming adaptive relationships. My treatment approach is particularly well suited for adults who would like to learn to relate to others in their personal or professional lives in healthier ways.

In my 20 years of private practice I have worked mostly with adults and even though my background is psychoanalytic my treatment approach is short-term, problem-oriented therapy.
I was born in Buenos Aires, the capital city of psychoanalysis. My fascination with it led me to a group that followed the teachings of French psychoanayst Jaques Lacan. I am a member of WAP (World Association of Psychoanalisis).

My advanced training is deeply rooted in the principles of various psychoanalytic approaches, with a particular emphasis on modern psychoanalysis.
Over the past century, the landscape of psychoanalysis has undergone profound transformations. Since the era of Freud, the field has embraced innovation, birthing a myriad of analytic approaches that refine and expand upon classical psychoanalytic principles. Among these, modern psychoanalysis stands out as a pivotal evolution, offering a gentler, more adaptable approach to understanding and treating the complexities of the human psyche.

Some of my techniques include but are not limited to Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and psychoanalytic therapy.
Do you find yourself constantly anxious? Are you tired of feeling fearful over things that you cannot control? Is this affecting your life, career, and relationships? Have you tried everything you could think of on your own and still feel anxious or depressed? If so, I would be honored to help you overcome this.

Do you feel you have it all/have enough, but do not feel satisfied, content, happy, or at peace? Do you want to find meaning and purpose in your life? If so, I invite you to schedule a 20-minute consultation with me to begin exploring your transformation. I can help you to learn to trust yourself, discern what you have and don't have control/responsibility over, and find your center/ true north, which you can utilize to make decisions more effectively and flow through life's ups and downs with more ease.

I believe that many of our problems arise from the depths of our unconscious that influence our lives and present themselves daily. It’s important to create a space to bring the unconscious to conscious awareness to heal with intention and wisdom. I believe that people heal through introspection resulting in insight and clarity. Once you become aware of those unconscious thoughts and behaviors, you can develop skills and techniques to implement in your life. Thus, you will feel empowered and in more control of your life.

Psychoanalytic Therapists

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?

Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?

Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?

Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?

Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
