Anxiety and depression can significantly diminish your ability to engage fully in life. Major transitions such as experiencing loss, managing relationships, starting college, participating in sports, changing careers, relocating, or adapting to significant life events can be overwhelmingly daunting.

On the outside you appear calm and steady, on the inside you feel tense and preoccupied, pushing aside your own needs to attend to the issue in front of you. You're high functioning, yet you hold yourself back from fully engaging with others and your own interests. Maybe you don’t even know what you enjoy because you’ve been so focused on prioritizing others. You find yourself going about your routines and trying to feel relief, but your current ways of operating are contributing to a build up of stress. Maybe you’ve limited your world, told yourself what you can and cannot do, and now you’re wondering how much you can change.

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults struggling with issues related to PTSD, women’s issues, maternal health, anxiety, depression and racial trauma.
Healing does not look the same for everyone. I believe each person’s mind is unique, with its own thoughts, feelings, perceptions, memories, experiences, and motives. Therapy is a place to tell your story to feel seen and heard. I am passionate about helping people heal from past trauma and process distressing life events, while empowering individuals to reclaim their agency now and write their next chapter. I believe in bringing the body to therapy to help people tap into trauma imprints that are held in their physiology.

I work with adults (18+) seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. I'm comfortable working with various issues such as relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief and loss. It's effective to work with people who want to explore the underlying causes of their struggles and gain insights into their patterns. Typically, patients value a supportive space to express themselves without judgment. Loss and mourning are an area of expertise where I help individuals navigate grief and rebuild their lives. I aim to provide a compassionate environment where patients can discover themselves, grow, and find healing.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
