I have worked as a therapist for the past decade, and work from a psychodynamic and trauma-informed perspective. I strive to provide a safe, respectful space in which to explore thoughts, feelings, dreams, and desires. I work with a range of issues, and have particular experience with anxiety, trauma, and depression; life transitions; and concerns related to identity. I have been fortunate to work with a diverse group of people, and have found a particular affinity for creative people, academics, and those passionate about their work; those who feel particularly sensitive; and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

I love my job! I am so lucky that somehow, I naturally am on a path to help other people. Luckily, the good in each person shines through to me. I want you to see that and feel that in yourself and for others to see your amazing inner light too. I can also work in conjunction with an existing therapist not trained in EMDR. I am here to support you and give you clarity on how to fulfill your desires and live your life to the fullest. I work with helping you to have manageable relationships. I am here for you.

Hi, I'm glad you're here! I understand how overwhelming it can be to find the right therapist—not just someone who can address your specific concerns, but someone who feels like the right fit. I am not cookie cutter, and I tailor treatment to your unique needs, helping us explore the best path forward together. You are not a problem to be 'fixed'; instead, I’m here to help you identify what truly matters to you, work toward your goals, and uncover any roadblocks that may be in your way. My clients often are coming to me with deep rooted negative beliefs about themselves, basically that inner critic” that is making a lot of noise!

All the "why" questions are flying through your head and the constant noise is driving you nuts. You want things to make sense. You want to feel like yourself again. Most of all, you want to go back in time to the thing that changed your body or your life and do everything in your power to prevent it from happening. The problem is that no one prepared you for this or understands how to help.

The clients I serve are often in a moment of transition and are unsure what the path forward looks like. They are seeking clarity, as well as relief from their symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and grief. Clients I enjoy working with understand that therapy extends beyond our scheduled time, and may include setting goals and practicing skills that grow reflection, insight and behavior change. I have seen that therapy and coaching can lead to greater self-understanding and a deeper, more dynamic framework for managing modern life and changing how we relate with ourselves and others.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
