I've been in this field since 2009 as a professional helper, and started out working w/ children, pre-teens, adolescence (i.e., foster care, adoption, behavioral and emotional, and autism); then expanded into working w/ adults (i.e., SMI population, forensic population, criminal justice involve population, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, OCD, anger management, life transitions, thinking disorders). I want to empower you to help you overcome obstacles.

My name is Michael and I am the owner of the Behavior & Counseling Center, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed Behavior Specialist. I have extensive experience working within the field of ABA/behavior modification as well as within the field of clinical counseling. I work within the framework of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) while incorporating a person-centered approach for my psychotherapy clients, and intertwine Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and (CBT) for my children and adolescent clients.

The CBT Center for Anxiety and OCD believes in providing the community with the most cutting-edge, expert Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, OCD, OC Spectrum Disorders and related conditions. We successfully treat clients with generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety, phobias and panic. The Center also specializes in working with people who have anxiety co-occurring with introversion, giftedness, people-pleasing and perfectionism as well as Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Dyslexia and medical conditions. We frequently treat individuals with comorbid depression, ADHD and Bipolar Disorder. In my practice, I look to build a strong and trusting rapport with clients. We are then able to work together on identifying potential sources of life stressors as well as strengths. In exploring these areas, clients are able to identify and modify previous patterns of behavior in order to achieve their full potential personally, academically, and/or vocationally.

I have worked with individuals, couples and families in a wide variety of settings for over 25 years. During this time, I have developed a number of particular specialties, including adolescents and families, boys and men, and addiction treatment. Typically, I offer a 3-session initial evaluation, at the end of which I make treatment recommendations. If the recommendation is to continue treatment in my practice, I can work in a variety of modes - individual, couples and family - and emphasize strategies that mobilize relationships and problem solving.

I am a passionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology & my Masters in Clinical Social Work. I’ve been in the Mental Health field for over 11 years in which I’ve gained experience in working with youths, young adults, couples, and families. As a military spouse, I’ve grown a love for the military population and their families. I’ve dedicated 11 years to working with military personnel and civilians overseas and stateside. Servicing youth has been my passion for the last 15 years however, working with guardians of my clients has allowed me to develop a love for servicing adults as well.

Dr Jones is clinical psychologist who specializes in women's health across the lifespan. Dr Jones has over two decades of domestic and international experience in the field. Be it navigating adolescence, adulthood, family planning, career, or any point in between, Dr Jones, at Mind Of A Woman, can assist with your journey and accomplishing your goals. We are Telehealth based and licensed to provide care in over 40 states.

The expectation in the counseling relationship is for honesty with a commitment of growth, healing, and self-discovery. My approach to counseling is that of person-centered and goal-oriented. My focus is to help clients determine his or her level of need and their commitment to developing the coping skills needed to improve upon their issues. I currently am a mental health and D&A counselor. My credentials include Certified Advanced Alcohol and a Drug Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional. It is a difficult decision to begin therapy especially for adolescents and young adults. I feel that developing a relationship is essential because no one shares their personal thoughts with someone they don’t trust. I believe in short term, solution based therapy with specific goals and direction. Therapy is not magic and succeeds when the therapist and client are working for the same goal. I am a social worker who has worked with adolescents and their families for many years, primarily in the high school setting. I also enjoy working with adults who are motivated to make changes in their lives.

I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, family conflicts, motivation, self esteem, and confidence.
