As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a foundation in psychotherapy, I take a comprehensive approach to mental health care. My work as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) came first, shaping how I diagnose and carefully assess the need for medication. Now, as a PMHNP & LMHC, I integrate therapy and prescribing to ensure a holistic treatment plan. In our first one to two sessions, we will explore whether medication is necessary and how it fits into your overall care. I expect all my patients to be in therapy—whether with me, my team of therapists and interns, or their own provider.
Since 2015, I have worked with children, adolescents, families, young adults, and older adults facing challenges such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, trauma, and BPD. My therapy experience informs my prescribing, ensuring medications are introduced only when clinically appropriate and as part of a broader mental health strategy.
Beyond clinical work, I train and mentor future mental health/ professionals as a university faculty: Harvard Graduate School of Education, 07/23 - Present; Rowan University, 09/18 - 06/23; (c) Northwestern University, 01/21 - 06/23.
