When we are stuck in protection mode it prevents us from connecting with others and puts us at risk for further hurt. Just a few years ago I was caught up in a cycle of self-doubt, shame, and failure. I was early on in adulthood and already I felt completely worn out; convinced my life would end in ruins. Eventually I was able to seek counseling, and this became a major factor in helping me find a new sense of hope and freedom. I became a counselor out of a desire to share this gift with others. I seek to create a safe space where my clients can find new hope in their journey. When you walk into my office, I want you to know that you are welcome here; you belong, and you matter.

I am a dually licensed therapist in both California and Colorado. I specialize in helping clients greatly improve their relationships, whether that be with family, a romantic partner, colleagues or friends. Connection and being in relationship is an essential part of the human experience, and when our relationships are feeling off or disconnected, it impacts us deeply. I am passionate about helping my clients identify their relationship patterns and learn how to better communicate their needs in order to feel more fulfilled. I also specialize in helping clients navigate the complicated feelings that come up surrounding a breakup.

Navigating mental health can be a tough journey, especially when societal norms or personal beliefs deem it as a taboo subject. In my practice, I specialize in supporting adults and teens who come from diverse cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I work with individuals facing trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a safe, judgement-free space for individuals to explore their struggles. Additionally, I offer support for women experiencing postpartum anxiety, depression, and infertility.

It’s nice to find someone you feel like you can be yourself around. I bring with me a sense of humor, warmth and authenticity that fosters connection and trust, especially important for those who are skeptical, or unsure about seeking help. Through this trusting relationship, my clients are better able to access self-compassion and more awareness of patterns that have kept them from achieving contentment, freedom and joy. My clients often struggle with anxiety, depression, shame, anger, low self-esteem, difficulty forming or maintaining relationships, lack of emotional expression or difficulty managing big emotions.

I am an Ackerman trained family therapist and graduate of NYU, practicing individual, family, couple, and support group psychotherapy. I specialize in relationships, intimacy, illness, trauma, and loss. My therapeutic work w/clients focuses on exploring how family, religion, and cultures of origin influence how one learns to adapt in the world, both independently and when exploring new areas of intimacy and connection. I believe in the importance of my own self-awareness, acknowledging that the work in understanding one’s relationship to privilege regarding ethnicity, color, and other intersectional identities are a lifelong study.
