His experience includes 10 years as a teacher, 30 years as a high school coach, 25 years as a consultant to youth organizations, and 30 years as a counselor providing direct service to clients. Hi, my name is Kate Spitzer. I'm a youth therapist who has experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, neurodivergency. I am LGBT+ affirming, and strive to create an environment where my clients feel understood and accepted. I believe that therapy can be fun, and that you can learn through play, which is why I love utilizing art and play activities in my sessions. I utilize CBT, DBT, Motivational techniques, and employ a strengths based and humanistic approach.

I am now offering Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy to our practice. Horses are extremely intuitive animals and are able to help facilitate change on an emotional relational level that enhances the healing process.I have had a long interest in horses and find a healing effect to be activated when in their presence. This realization was probably the most important driving force that propelled me into this horse/person connection as a modality for treatment.
