Steve Karnehm specializes in providing practical help to individuals and families. Steve sees his role in counseling as facilitator, coach, and encourager. His experience includes 10 years as a teacher, 30 years as a high school coach, 25 years as a consultant to youth organizations, and 30 years as a counselor providing direct service to clients. Steve lives near Dayton and has a passion for enriching the lives of autistic children and their families. Likewise, he spends time empowering high school athletes since it is his belief that athletic endeavors are often "life in miniature" and life lessons are often learned via real experiences.
Steve's pastimes and passions include: moments spent with his family, fly-fishing, bicycling, track and field, spirituality with limited religion, great movies, underdogs, and stories of overcoming in spite of odds. His practice is a natural extension of his personal philosophy.
My practice is not built on the one-size-fits-all model. Individuals are unique and so should be the methodology of helping. With sound professional guidelines and a person-centered approach, I seek to aid individuals, families, and couples in their growth process by meeting them "where they are."
