I am a direct, no-nonsense professional who has devoted my 40+ year career to helping people improve their lives. I work with adults and seniors (individual/couples) who are motivated to change. I work with children and teens within the structure of their families to resolve communication and behavioral difficulties. I have extensive experience working with adoptive (Reactive Attachment) and step families. If you are frustrated trying to connect with someone you love, outside intervention can help. Most often, that which is experienced as an emotional impasse, is an opportunity for growth.
My major goal is to help clients move from what is often the lowest point in their lives toward a path of recovery and personal strength. Everyone has to come to terms with parts of him- or herself that remain hidden to them, yet are obvious to others. My job is to hold up an empathetic mirror that will promote greater self-awareness and growth.
I am keenly aware of how difficult it is to face the challenge of change in one's life. I have sat in the client's chair and understand how daunting it can be to start the process of therapy.
I have learned a lot from my mistakes in life, and I believe that a therapist/counselor/mentor does best when leading where he or she has already been.
