My style is rooted in somatic and mindfulness-based approaches including AEDP, IFS, EMDR, attachment theory, Polyvagal Theory, and affective neuroscience, all of which support nervous system regulation and the unlocking of your innate wisdom and capacity to heal and grow.
If you’ve done a lot of inner work but are still anxious, uneasy, or stuck in old patterns that you know are no longer serving you, I would love to help. My clients are sensitive, wise, and intentional. They are parents, friends, leaders, and helping professionals seeking to be more integrated, present, and connected in their lives. Our work will help you process stuck emotions and stored trauma to access your innate wisdom so you can feel more alive and connected. My practice is inclusive to people of all backgrounds, races, and identities.

My approach draws on AEDP, which privileges co-created safety as a space within which to work with emotional experience, heal pain and trauma, and create change for the better.
At times in our lives we are faced with transitions, experiences, or emotions that can feel destabilizing or challenge our familiar ways of coping. Present day stressors may lead to anxiety or depression, or connect with unresolved trauma from the past. Developing a strong therapeutic relationship with clients provides the safety and connection that is key for therapy to be helpful. It is a foundation from which to explore and understand your feelings and experiences. I am active and collaborative in listening, inquiring, and guiding.

Using attachment-focused and neuroscience-backed approaches like AEDP, we'll build a relational space for healing.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges? Are you confused about your gender, sexuality, or relationship with sex? Are you struggling to stop using substances that are causing life to feel out of control, but it feels like too much to take on alone? Finding a therapist to help and support you is the right place to start. If you thought, "Oh, that's me." when reading any of these questions, you've come to the right place. As you begin to talk about what you're going through in a safe and judgement free space, you will soon realize that healing is possible. I am here to join you in the chaos and help make sense of it all.

I am a trauma therapist working primarily from an AEDP model, with training in EMDR, Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy and IFS, and have 18 years of experience working with people dealing with substantial losses (whether due to accident, overdose, natural causes or illness), complex family dynamics and health-related stress.
Grief, loss, illness and caregiving can change the ways we feel about ourselves, our lives and our future. The impacts can be immense, and intersect with everything else we've been through in our lives. Many people find that working with a specialized therapist offers an additional level of support when it's difficult to cope. Whether you or someone close to you were recently diagnosed or living with an illness for years, caring for someone else, work in healthcare or whether you lost someone or something important to you, please reach out.

I tailor my approach based on each clients needs utilizing various modalities including, CBT, AEDP, Psychodynamic, and Internal Family Systems.
I believe in a collaborative therapy experience to assist clients in their process of self-discovery. As the cornerstone of my approach, I believe that unconditional support through the therapeutic relationship provides a strong foundation for this journey. This support is often missing from our lives and when we start to experience challenges or road blocks we can start to feel more isolated and alone. If you are feeling stuck or dissatisfied with your life starting therapy can be the first step to creating change.

Through advanced training in trauma-based & neuroscience-informed modalities (such as AEDP, EFT, & EMDR), I'm able to work with clients in a way that rewires the nervous system so clients can be their selves at best.
Searching for a therapist can be a daunting experience, one that is often intensified by the overwhelming struggles that lead to seeking help in the first place. Despite this initial challenge, the bold step towards therapy can become the catalyst for a renewed sense of purpose and agency for your life. Perhaps right now you are feeling powerless, stuck in cycles of negative thoughts and behaviors, burdened by complicated relationships, or working through a difficult season of change. Whatever it is that brings you to this process, know that therapy can help you find relief.

I am trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two powerful forms of psychotherapy designed to promote connection, healing and growth.
Are you living the life you want? Is your relationship a source of pain for you? Are you arguing more, trusting less, or finding yourself not looking forward to spending time together? Maybe your relationship feels stuck, like you're just replaying the same disagreement over and over again. Do you not like the person you are when you're in a relationship or wonder why you keep repeating patterns in the type of person you date? Human beings are wired for connection, yet somehow the people we are closest with also seem to cause us the most pain.

Trained in EMDR, AEDP, and Gestalt, I pay special attention to the body.
Do you struggle to know what you want? Is it hard to commit? In a time of so much uncertainty, it can be difficult to make decisions.  Maybe you feel blocked professionally or creatively. Or, like a lot of us, your struggles show up in your closest relationships. Maybe you’ve dealt with the weight of other people’s expectations and find it hard to listen to yourself or trust your own voice. Or maybe you worry you’ll be misunderstood. Sometimes you wish someone would just tell you what to do, but that leaves you feeling constrained and inauthentic.

I draw on traditional approaches to therapy like DBT, CBT, and ACT and I have completed additional trainings in EMDR, AEDP, IFS, Reiki, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
As humans we crave connection: to be known and deeply loved. But sometimes we may feel like there are parts of us that aren't acceptable or loveable. We may learn to be sensitive to other people's signals, discerning what we need to do so that they'll love and accept us. Sometimes, we get so good at it that we don't even realize we’re doing it anymore. In the safety of therapy, I invite you to explore your full human experience. We will shine a light on the hidden places that you may not have been allowed to explore. We’ll acknowledge the barriers you have faced along the way while empowering you to move toward your fullest self.

AEDP Therapists

Who is AEDP therapy for?

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.

Why do people need AEDP?

People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.

What happens in AEDP therapy?

Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.

What problems does AEDP treat?

AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
