An artist and writer, Dr. Lubell earned a BA degree at City Univ. of NY while working in the World Trade Center. Having always been drawn to people’s stories with compassion and caring, she followed her heart to become a psychologist, achieving her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Univ. of Michigan. Dr. Lubell is certified in ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy), a technique that has amazing results in a very short period of time. She practices EMDR, which has proven effective to treat trauma. She also has a wealth of experience helping couples to resolve conflicts and move on to a satisfying relationship.

Our work together is about building trust, creating aliveness and healing in a collaborative and empowering safe space. I offer Brainspotting and other modalities that promote greater awareness, health, presence, and mindfulness. Hello, I was born and raised in Stockton, California. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and in 1997, after 25 yeas of service, I retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer), as well as a structural welder (Ironworker), as those were the most marketable skill that I had. I came to a point where old injuries came back to haunt me and I could no longer walk (several years later, thanks to a surgery through the VA, I can walk again; thankful for that).

I have worked with children, families, individuals and couples in many different capacities before finding my calling as a therapist. I have specialized training in couples and marriage counseling, family counseling, PTSD/trauma, adoption and foster care, anxiety and depression, and other mental illness, life changes, grief and loss. I also work with adolescents who are struggling in school or with behavior problems, defiance, and depression and anxiety. I work with couples and families for a variety of reasons.
