My goal as a therapist is to help individuals find effective ways in which to lead healthy, happy and successful lives. My clinical perspective is collaborative and open, using an individualized approach to treatment in order to focus on the personal strengths and styles of each client. I am experienced in working with older adolescents and adults in a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, developmental, grief, health, work and school adjustment, relationship issues, family conflict, and parenting.

I work with a children, adolescents, and their families who are dealing with a variety of issues and needs. Some of the reasons children are brought in for therapy are for help dealing with behavioral needs, trauma, divorce/separation, mood disorders, self harming behaviors, and developmental issues such as ADHD and Autism. I will involve the family members in the therapeutic process on an as needed basis. Through a collaborative process I will help my clients meet their goals. I will also work with schools or other therapists as needed.

As a music therapist and psychodramatist, I support and foster my clients' innate spontaneity and creativity, which are powerful resources for growth, change, and healing. In my 20 years of clinical work, I have extensive experience helping children, teens, and adults who are coping with difficult family situations, children and teens who have experienced trauma, and children and teens with autism spectrum disorder or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. She is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive and holistic intervention for her clients and their families. Her experience ranges from infants to young adults with autism spectrum disorder, low muscle tone, global developmental delays, cerebral palsy, developmental coordination disorder, ADHD and more. I specialize working with clients experiencing psychiatric/ substance abuse/dependence. My focus client population is adolescents and young adults. Also, I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD and the gamate of mental health disorders.A Social Skills Group is offered for adolescents who have social issues and Smoking Cessation Program is offered to those who want to stop smoking cigarettes. Dr. Leonard V. Pisano has over 30 years experience as a school Psychologist offering psychological services to both general and special education students. Evaluations include Psycho-Ed and School Neuropsychological assessments addressing learning, behavioral and social-emotional issues. The evaluation examines the student's strengths, weaknesses, how information is utilized and the impact of learning environments. I have expertise in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Psychoeducational and Psychological Assessments, and I am a qualified Cogmed coach (computerized working memory training). I am a Licensed Psychologist in New Jersey at Behavior Therapy Assocates (BTA) and have been the Program Director of the North New Jersey Campus of HI-STEP® Summer Program since 2008.
