I am a trauma-informed licensed therapist with ten years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families to manage depression, anxiety, PTSD, family conflict, life transitions, and self-esteem issues. One of my greatest joys as a therapist is working with members of diverse communities to be the best version of themselves. I believe that we can best heal and grow through emotional intelligence, self-mastery, and understanding of how our cultural background and life circumstances have impacted our life outlook. I have helped many people over the years establish a stronger sense of self-esteem and life direction.

I counsel adults of various ages and have extensive experience with young adults/college age individuals. I also welcome: LGBTQIA+ clients, women dealing with reproductive health issues, and individuals focusing on the relationship between their physical and mental health.

For over 26 years I have been working with people seeking improvements in their personal lives or relationships. I welcome individuals, couples or families from all backgrounds whether their concerns are personal or relational. My approach is “strength-based,” which means that I look for client competencies and resources, and try to avoid pathologizing people because of their problems, past or diagnoses. How often and how long the therapy will last depends on client goals and treatment needs and will be mutually agreed upon. The atmosphere in my office is relaxed and warm, and clients are always treated with dignity and respect.

Every person is different therefore every interaction is different. As humans we have patterns and the patterns you exhibit assist me to help you efficiently and appropriately for each situation we may encounter during our therapeutic relationship. Counseling is not just processing. Counseling also includes making changes, gaining self-awareness, having a willingness to gradually open up and so much more. As a counselor, I do not have “magic words” for a “fix all solution”; I will however be there as a guide for you. I am a licensed clinical independent social worker (LICSW) with over a decade of experience practicing as a therapist. I particularly enjoy working with individuals in times of significant transition and those seeking to heal trauma and/or burnout. My areas of specialization include perinatal and parental mental health, treatment of trauma and stress-related disorders, grief and loss, and providing affirming treatment for LGBTQ+ individuals. I presently hold certifications in perinatal mental health, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, and hospice and palliative care.
