Self-compassion is an important step in the journey for self-growth, but sometimes the journey is tough, and you need support. The counseling process is a collaborative effort between the therapist and the client in a supportive and judgement-free environment. I aspire to empower and validate my clients within this supportive environment, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance in therapy.

No matter what background we come from life tends to bring its own suffering and difficulties. I view therapy as a place where challenges and painful emotions can be confronted in a safe and caring environment. My personality is warm and empathetic, and I aim to provide a place where clients feel heard, cared for, and listened to. I view clients as being the author of their own lives. My style is action oriented, and I try to push clients out of their comfort zones, through the use of mindfulness and behavioral changes.

With over 30 years experience, I am a child & adult psyciatrist practicing primarily psychotherapy, addressing a full range of issues from emotional strains, anxiety, depression and trauma, to developmental issues including gender development, autistic spectrum and psychosis. I am former Chair of the Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Training Program at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. Since the time of COVID and with the myriad of changes in our world, lives become unsettled at home, work, in our families and our personal relationships. I am PA/NJ licensed clinical social worker with over 20 yrs experience. I received my BA in Psychology in 1994 and my MSW in 1997. Since then, I have worked in various settings including the Behavioral Health System of Philadelphia, numerous behavioral health facilities which include psychiatric units, detox and rehabs, college counseling settings and in assisted living/nursing facilities with older adults. In 2013, I started an in person private practice and then made the jump to telehealth during the pandemic. I find that telehealth is much more accessible and convenient for clients as we are still able to do amazing work!

I offer support to clients who struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, body dysmorphia, traumatic brain injury, concussions from sports, and gender identity Issues.
