In that reality, you need someone who can listen, understand and help you sift through the problems of a sexual/porn compulsion/addiction and/or the betrayal trauma from the reveal of your partner’s hidden sexual life, and I offer that service. I've worked for the past 8 years with men in their recovery from active sex/porn addiction, and for the past 5 years I've been working with partners/spouses who've been traumatized by such hidden behavior, and its relational damage.

First, I believe it is my duty to be able to actively listen to my client, obtain a good understanding of where they are and where they want to go. Together, we will move you and/or your team or organization in the desired direction to reach your goals. As a young man growing up in North Chicago, I quickly learned that life is full of rewards and upsets, if I allowed it to happen. At 3 months old, I was abandoned by my mother, left inside of a garbage can in an alley waiting to die. However, life had other plans for me. A passerby heard my faint cries and pulled me from the garbage can. Later, I was adopted but went on to experience years of physical and emotional abuse by my adopted mother. At the age of 12, I ran away from home and was placed in foster care. I was adopted again, but I experienced more mental and physical abuse. I dropped out of the 9th grade and began running away again. At the age of 16, the authorities declared me an emancipated teenager. With a story like mine, you would probably think there was no hope for finding happiness or for finding quality of life. However, I have learned to use my negative experiences as a testimony to reach out and help others.

I am interested in supporting you through transitions, trauma, and life changes that can be difficult to navigate. I utilize a trauma-informed approach that is grounded in social justice, lived experience, and uplifting community. I have primarily worked with youth and also have experience working with LGBTQIA adults and survivors of assault through therapeutic groups and advocacy work. I am committed to supporting those who have been marginalized and believe that healing and justice is necessary for our communities.

My approach counseling is to promote hope, healing, contentment, and lasting growth, for the clients I have the privilege of serving. My mission is to provide a safe, nonjudgemental, and empathetic space, to dive deeper into the inevitable ebb and flow of our collective human experience. While at the same time, I'll introduce tools to help you enhance your strengths and uncover your greatest potential to evolve and heal from within. I'll utilize contextual, historical, intersectional, and cross-cultural techniques, in order to uniquely foster sustainable and transformative change to achieve and maintain holistic wellness.
