I work well with patients suffering from symptoms that they feel no one has the capability to treat. Many of my patients come to me after they have been to other therapists and have not found relief. My patients come to me for a psychotherapeutic experience different from the usual. The patients who are a good fit for my services are sensitive, intuitive, creative, and have had difficulty reconciling their personality with their personal experiences and the world around them. For over 20 years, I've worked with individuals and couples struggling with relationship problems, challenging life transitions like mid-life crises, job stress, grief and loss, and living authentically. I also specialize in depression, anxiety, stress and chronic health issues. You're not alone in your struggle once we begin to work together. I listen deeply to really understand you as we work to transform your issues. I offer sessions in my Edmonds office, by phone, or by video conference.

I work with people facing all sorts of struggles. Some of the most common issues I help with include depression, anxiety, identity formation, and relationship problems between couples or within families. I have a lot of experience in working with conflict between children and adolescents and their parents. I believe in the importance of helping people to understand the roots of their behaviors. I combine therapeutic styles based on what my clients want and need.

My passion is helping clients rediscover their true potentials and bring joy back into their lives. I follow a strengths-based model of practice while utilizing a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral techniques. Essentially, I believe in a holistic approach, in that all of our experiences (physical, emotional, spiritual, and social) are integral in our unique compositions. Our early experiences often show up in our current lives, and can manifest themselves in a myriad of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Our emotional and mental health suffers when there is inconsistencies between the image we have of ourselves and the world around us. My goal is to help clients gain accurate perceptions of who they are in the world and the world around them by giving clients the support and tools needed to traverse the difficult terrains of life.

My goal is to help you find a way to navigate those muddy waters and to make life not quite so rocky. I personally have a passion for parents and kids. I have worked in the field of child welfare and adoption and have seen the impact trauma has on the young and the old. I recognize how early childhood trauma impacts an individual throughout their life and impacts all relationships.

With a history of working with people of all ages in community mental health, I became a Child Specialist, and worked with children, teens and families. I have extensive experience addressing trauma, depression and anxiety, I provide tools that can give you greater sense of power and success. I use humor and specific skills to build confidence in parenting, trust in relationships, intimacy between couples, behavioral issues of children.

As a Marriage & Family Therapist I have had the privilege of working with adults, couples, children & families throughout my 15+ year career in the mental health field. I have developed my career by gaining experience in a variety of settings including schools, nonprofit agencies, crisis intervention, group practice & now, currently, private practice. I have helped individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma & issues surrounding their family of origin. I enjoy working with young people on their journey to self-discovery, guiding families through parenthood & facilitating communication for couples in conflict.

I have a specialty in the area of special needs of children and adolescents. This includes the identification and treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder, learning problems, anxiety and depression in children and adolescence. I have worked with over 10,000 children in my career, and have an extensive background in behavior problems, parent-child relationships, and family violence issues, including child sexual abuse. My personal Christian beliefs and values influence my perspective. At the same time, the beliefs and values of my clients are treated with respect. The therapeutic process should be characterized by openness and a collaborative attitude on both of our parts.
