Do you have a history of trauma or stressful life events? Are you feeling stuck, anxious, angry, or overwhelmed? Are you struggling to be the type of employee, partner, or parent you hoped to be? Many of my clients tell me they are having a hard time feeling safe, confident, content and satisfied in their life. They find themselves not fully present or able to enjoy the positive moments and connections in life. If you have been feeling this way, it could relate to trauma or life stress. If you have experienced grief, losses, or a traumatic experience, you can learn tools and begin specialty therapies to help manage these feelings.

Is it too much? Do you want it just to go away? Are you wondering if the hurt will ever stop? Do you need someone safe to unload all that you are carrying? I am ready when you are. My perspective on counseling is to work towards a goal of emotional, psychological, physical, relational, and spiritual wholeness. My first step is to get to know you and the full scope of the problem. Then we work towards relieving some of the heaviness you are carrying. Next, we figure out how this happened and how you can heal and keep you from experiencing this pain again.

My clients come to me for help with developing healthy self-care habits for optimal wellness. They have difficulty finding peace and calm in the midst of daily life activities (especially parents), and therefore may suffer various symptoms from stress and overwhelm (and possibly other mental health concerns). They come to me because they are intent on developing and maintaining healthy habits, and they know that using behavior science (Applied Behavior Analysis and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) is effective in achieving behavior goals. They want to do this because self-care leads to more effective overall performance (life, work)

Life can be quite an experience. Sometimes it goes along smoothly. We feel pretty happy and content. Other times it can become uncertain, even overwhelming. Handling all of the pressures and trying to find balance can become daunting. We may not do things as well as we used to and begin to feel that life is a struggle just to get through. Having support which allows you to find new and creative solutions can be just what is needed to help you get back on track.

Relationships can be difficult and I believe that the relationship we cultivate with ourselves is of utmost importance in the way we communicate with others. Are we accepting and compassionate when we notice mistakes or are we critical and judgmental? By improving our ''inside voices' we can alleviate much of the stress and tension in our lives. When working with individuals, couples, or groups, I remain unbiased and non-judgmental as I attempt to be a "clear mirror" for Self discovery. I believe that "life doesn't happen TO us. It happens FOR us." As an Imago therapist, I enjoy working with couples very much.

My name is Gabriel Arroyo and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My desire to become a therapist began when I was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 10 and was faced with learning how to cope with this significant change in my life. This experience allowed me to learn coping skills and strategies to overcome struggles that we experience in life and provided me with a passion to provide that same knowledge to others. As a Therapist, my approach is free formed in order to build a respectable comfort between us to work as a team on goals with your existing strengths and skills.

You do not need to have a mental health disorder to seek therapy. Sometimes we just need someone to listen and provide extra support through life transitions and challenges. I'm pleased to be that person for you in your life. Everyone suffers from life's struggles, but healing begins through connections to both ourselves and the people in our lives. We all are resilient and have the aptitude to feel peace and acceptance with relationships and within.

How can I find a therapist in 92346?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
