Using an Attachment-based lens, I help folks understand & process family roles, relationship dynamics & survival mechanisms that no longer serve them. I specialize in supporting those struggling with anxiety, low-self esteem, emotional overwhelm, relationship issues, & other forms of inner child wounds. In order to feel safe & have our needs met, we may adopt behaviors such as conflict avoidance, people-pleasing, perfectionism, etc. Once needed to survive, as we get older, these protective mechanisms can cause states of depression/anxiety, stunt us from growing, & (unconsciously) recreate relationship patterns from our childhood.

I enjoy working with folks who need support in managing a wide variety of issues from self-esteem and identity concerns to the stress of dealing with multiple roles, relationships, and life demands (as students, partners, friends, parents, new professionals, family members, community activists, etc.) My clinical interests include multicultural and women's issues, racial/ethnic identity development (especially among biracial/multi-racial/ethnic/cultural individuals), sexual and gender identity development, adjustment and transition issues, and building healthy relationships through assertive communication and positive self-esteem.

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed psychologist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who provides individual telehealth mental health services for older adolescents (16+), young adults, and adults experiencing depression, stress, and anxiety due to history of trauma, chronic health conditions, relationship issues, work stress/ burnout, current events, family/generational issues, and racism. Unresolved stress and trauma can wreak havoc on your physical and mental health, as well as your relationships. Together in therapy, we will work on finding meaning, strength, and building resiliency.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in providing psychotherapy. I currently work with adults who suffer from an array of psychological problems including but not limited to depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and relationship problems. I am especially sensitive to cultural and gender issues and provide a personalized and integrated therapeutic approach using a combination of therapies: humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and family systems to help improve the individual's well-being, mental health, and relationships.

My passion for advancing the field of Marriage and Family Therapy led me to pursue extensive education and training, culminating in a Doctoral degree. With a strong foundation in research, clinical practice, and business, I founded two impactful ventures in 2023: The Center for Mental Health Excellence (CFMHE), a California non-profit, and The Institute for Relational Well-being, a national practice. These initiatives reflect my unwavering commitment to enhancing mental health services and promoting community well-being.

I find therapy is most effective when clients come with a sense of curiosity and willingness to make change. I have observed the power of curiosity and willingness be a catalyst in working with clients struggling with unprocessed or history of trauma, family dysfunction, relationship problems, emotional distress, mood disorders, substance use, depression, anxiety, or life satisfaction. I am hopeful to assist clients access curiosity and willingness in efforts to create meaningful changes that allow us to live more at ease with ourselves and move through life with a greater understanding.

Addiction Therapy Newport Beach is an outpatient psychotherapy service for individual seeking help to work on drug and alcohol addiction and underlying issues such as trauma, mood disorders, stress management, relationship problems. We see addiction as the solution and not the problem and thus we focus on the underlying problems that the individuals are dealing with.
