Some examples of this could include cognitive restructuring, body awareness and movement, mindfulness, emotional release, and EMDR.
Do you experience frequent feelings of anxiety, self-criticism, and overwhelm when what you long for is a sense of ease, passion and connection in your life? Do you feel stuck in big areas of your life such as your relationships and career? Perhaps you don’t know how to talk to your friends and family about this because their advice doesn’t help, leaving you back in the cycle of feeling alone and stuck. I know you're tired of feeling trapped in these patterns, unable to be present. It's time to reclaim your power. I will help guide you to heal these negative patterns so you can experience emotional, mental and spiritual freedom.

Currently accepting new clients for ketamine therapy and EMDR and now IN network with Kaiser! If you've done therapy before but you want access to your subconscious to deepen your self understanding, then I can be your guide. By using psychedelic therapy with ketamine or EMDR we use all sources of deep inner wisdom to undo the things that aren't working anymore and strengthen the things that are! Sometimes talking just isn't going to cut it, and our own language and societal norms can be self limiting factors. We can cut through that in a safe way together to help you flourish in your unique humanness.

I use EMDR frequently when appropriate, to help people get past trauma, and often do creative techniques such as sand tray when clients feel stuck or overwhelmed.
I am an easy-going person who uses a lot of humor in session. I have a big dog in my office most of the time, who is a trained and certified therapy dog. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to improve their life and is in it for the long haul. A lot of my clients are struggling to figure out who they are or why they're struggling so much and I encourage people to give themselves permission to not have it all figured out. I try my best to make therapy enjoyable but don't get me wrong; you will definitely grow in the process. I have a team of therapists in my practice so regardless of what you're looking for we've got you.

I use a combination of Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR.
We are not meant to live life in isolation. We innately crave deep meaningful relationships. I believe in helping people build healthy, deep lasting relationships and friendships. However, sometimes life happens. Attachment wounds surface. Trauma occurs. Life Transitions are inevitable. Depression and anxiety take over. These things keep us from enjoying the people and things we love. I take a holistic, evidenced based approach looking at past and present issues, as well as your emotional, physical, spiritual and mental state. I enjoy helping individuals overcome deep shame, insecurities and fears that they are not good enough.

After years of working with children and families who have experienced single incident traumas, relational trauma, abuse, and medical trauma, I've found EMDR to be very effective.
As a dedicated trauma therapist, I have special training and expertise in working with children (4-11) and families that have experienced trauma. I also have extensive experience in working with families whose children are facing end-of-life situations, life-limiting illnesses, and chronic health issues. I believe that children and parents are the experts in their lives and view my role as a catalyst for greater connection, attachment, healing, and meaningful change. As a clinical social worker, I recognize the impact systems and institutions can have on children and families and will be your advocate as you navigate these systems

I offer both individual as well as couples therapy while incorporating evidence based strategies such as EMDR and DBT.
My therapeutic style is welcoming, grounding, and curious. I aim for therapy to be a collaborative space for authentic exploration, which I approach from a open and curious stance. I believe my clients are the experts of their own experiences, and it is my honor and duty to use my knowledge to assist my clients in unfolding, understanding, integrating, and blossoming into their authentic, functional self. To assist my clients in this process, I often utilize personalized metaphor, analogy, reflection, and humor to both support and challenge each client. Often, my therapy style is described as relieving, exciting, and insightful.

EMDR, psychedelic therapy, and psychological assessment can be powerful adjuncts to therapy, especially when one feels stuck.
Whether you’re suffering from an eating disorder or body dissatisfaction, struggling with the effects of trauma, or need support during a difficult time, you are probably here with the hope for healing and a more balanced and fulfilling life. Perhaps you are ready for change, but the prospect of addressing painful experiences, trauma, or what underlies an eating disorder sounds overwhelming and scary. You are not alone, and there is hope. I appreciate collaboration, honesty and some humor! My style is warm, supportive, and authentic. It would be my honor to support you on your journey.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
