In my 35+ years of counseling I have been fortunate to work with a wide variety of people with a wide variety of issues in a wide variety of settings. My broad goal in counseling is to foster positive change in others. I believe my success in working with people has been my ability to be adaptable and open when relating to the person, group, or family I am trying to assist. I listen to identify the present issues and the possible history of these issues. I employ an eclectic approach in therapy using the tools to promote change.

I offer individual, couples, and family counseling for youth (age 10+) and adults. Together, we will discover new meaning in your experiences, while identifying opportunities for healing and growth. Therapy varies in length of time depending on your unique story, worldview, personality and needs.

I in address a range of challenges faced by children and adolescents, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and conflict resolution. I take an eclectic approach, drawing from various theoretical orientations such as play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Each person has a unique story about what's going on and how they got there. What I incorporate into my sessions is authenticity, humor, and a pragmatic approach. I strive to build a solid rapport with each client, as I know that the therapist/client relationship is essential to healing. I use an eclectic approach and I pull from a lot of different modalities when working with clients. What I find is more important than any theory or modality is being there my client in whatever moment they are in.

Lauren believes in the importance of creating a safe, nonjudgmental space in the counseling room, and strives to actively engage her clients throughout the counseling process to ensure personally tailored care. Lauren is well-versed in treating individuals with a multitude of concerns. These include but are not limited to OCD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, family and relationship issues, life transitions, separation/divorce, perfectionism, grief, trauma and more. Lauren enjoys working with children 8 and up, adolescents and adult individuals.

I specialize in seeing individuals who are dealing with the following issues: depression and anxiety, Bipolar disorders, relationship issues, childhood sexual abuse/trauma, career transitions, unplanned pregnancy, grief and loss, and behavioral problems. I have training in Biblical studies (a one year certificate in Bible and Ministry) which provides a foundation for Biblically-based counseling. I do treat clients who express a non-spiritual focus.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a private practice in Carrollton and Plano, Texas. Work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, work issues, relationship issues, grief and loss, divorce recovery, anger, family of origin issues, and trauma. My ideal client is between the ages of 4 and 18 who is struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, or mood disorders. Children and adolescents need a safe space to express their emotions and develop coping strategies in order to reduce symptoms, improve functioning in daily life, and achieve long-term emotional well-being. I also love working with families who want to be involved in the therapeutic process. I am a big believer that most of the work is done in between sessions, and I am here to help you and your family find something that works best for you.
