I believe counseling begins with a genuine, honest relationship.
It may be that your ADHD, anxiety or depression is in control of your life and making it difficult to complete simple tasks during the day. Your relationships don’t seem to work out. You lose control of your anger, driving others away, ultimately leaving you full of shame and alone. Or you have harmful emotions and/or behaviors that are running your life. I work exclusively with men to help them address the issues unique to them in order to achieve emotional maturity and lead full lives. I am also passionate about fly fishing, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends.

Together, within the safety of this relationship, we will realize your goals.
"Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." Haruki Murakami. I will hold a safe space for you to process life and its inevitable pains--change, loss, grief, and trauma. I will join you without judgement: where you are, as you are. Our time together will be collaborative and supportive—a partnership. You will gain an experience of trust and of personal power. You will be equipped with tools and skills relative to the goals that you establish, enabling you to thrive independently. Relationships, "stuckness", trauma, etc. will be addressed and resolved. Together, we will manifest your inherent creativity, purpose, and joy.

I work with individuals ages 16+ from all different backgrounds who are seeking healing from trauma, relationship conflict, family of origin issues, life transitions, cultural identity, anxiety, depression, and other difficult life experiences.
I seek to destigmatize mental healthcare for all populations and provide a safe space where my clients feel seen and heard to navigate their relationships with themselves and others. As a South Asian American and daughter of immigrants, I have first hand experience of the deep effects that family of origin and cultural conflicts have on your lived experiences. I provide support for my clients in being their authentic selves and help them develop the skills they need to thrive. I want my clients to have an empathetic space to explore their challenges, process their thoughts and emotions, and experience healing.

This may mean working with personal or generational trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, relationships, cultural identity, gender, sexuality, and so much more. It is my honor to work with clients on paths of exploration, personal growth, and healing. Because of the pain that often brings us to therapy, I believe that safety, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity are of the utmost importance in the therapeutic relationship. My theoretical orientation in counseling is primarily psychodynamic and interpersonal within a humanistic framework. I believe that past experiences inform current understanding, and exploring such issues can be healing. Change can also be related to a new understanding of relational patterns and a new experience of relationship with the therapist and others.

If you have lost yourself in a relationship or job responsibilities, you may have lost sight of who you really are and what you really need for happiness and health.
For over twenty-five years, I have done therapy with individuals experiencing life stress and/or chemical imbalances. I have successfully treated clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety and panic attacks. For the past five years, I have concentrated primarily on clients who have experienced emotional abuse from having been involved with a person who has Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Such relationships leave others feeling as thought the life has been sucked out of them. I have helped many clients go from feeling weak and depleted to strong and self confident; they regain self esteem and peace of mind.

I work with adults and older adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship problems, and phase-of-life concerns.
I began working in the field over 20 years ago, in university counseling centers across the South. Now in private practice, I see adolescents-middle age adults. I strive to join my clients at the point in their process where old patterns are no longer working and collaborate with them to find new ones. I like to set goals together that provide a roadmap for the course of our work, and I challenge my clients to work on things not only in session, but also in their everyday lives. I view therapy as a temporary stop along life’s path; a realignment that sends my clients back out there as healthier and happier versions of themselves.

Childhood trauma doesn't have to continue to have its grip on you, and take away your happiness! True healing is possible with EMDR. Over the 30 years that I have been in this field, I have seen hundreds of clients get their life, joy and happiness back.

My first priority is creating an effective therapeutic relationship, rooted in compassion, in which your unique strengths are affirmed and supported.
Sometimes difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences take us away from the life we want to live. It may not seem clear how therapy can help. I provide a non-judgmental and secure space where, together, we can clarify your goals and develop a treatment plan. My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based clinical practices. Combining behavioral and mindfulness-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention, I help clients develop insight and take action in order to live engaged, meaningful lives.

Hello! Helping individuals to heal from their pasts and grow into the best version of themselves is something I truly love. Today, we know that trauma settles into our brains and bodies in ways that time cannot fully heal (despite the old adage, “time heals everything”) . Would you like to be more present in your daily life, have a healthier relationship to yourself and others? I would love to work together to help you heal from your past, so that you can live life more fully today.

Life can be complicated, overwhelming, challenging, and messy. People don’t tend to fit in neat little boxes, but I find that beautiful. The people I comes in contact with never cease to amaze and inspire me with their stories, struggles, and victories. I am committed to creating a safe and nonjudgemental space for people to explore healing and reconnect with themselves, others, and with hope beyond ourselves. My focus is relational and I believe this is the most healing aspect of any treatment modal. “We are wounded in relationship, and we heal in relationship.”

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
