Dr. Stanley Nwogwugwu, LCPC, is a board approved supervisor in Maryland, with over 14 years as a psychotherapist.I am a client centered therapist which means that the client is leading the process of change and is the expert on what is going on in their life. My role as the therapist is to provided the process to effect the change. This process I believe occurs most frequently in the context of a supportive, trusting relationship, and I am skilled at building rapport with people in tough situations.
I specialize in working with a variety behavioral health problems. I am well trained to work with adolescent and adult populations. Primarily my focus has been on working with behavioral health challenges and substance abuse issues among these groups while also considering additional cultural and social factors that may affect progress.
