In our work together, I support you to tap into your intrinsic resources: emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual, so as to overcome infertility, heal from pregnancy loss and stabilize postpartum challenges.

Michele is an Italian name pronounced "Meek-ay-lay". I received training both in Europe and in New York. I specialize in depression and anxiety. Sometimes we are depressed/anxious because of natural events (e.g. a family loss, career challenges, etc...), and other times we feel depressed/anxious without knowing why, as if our mind was hiding the distress source. Whether we are able or unable to make out the reasons of our depression/anxiety, therapy can be a journey of self-discovery to alleviate these problems.

I consider psychotherapy to be a project between two people in which the goal is to understand both conscious and unconscious sources of emotional pain and ultimately open a space in which to alleviate suffering. The result is a very singular relationship that encourages multiple readings of itself and of all the relationships that have come before it. Denise Elizabeth Erker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been in the field for over 25 years. She received her Master's in Social Work (MSW) from SUNY Stony Brook, and she has worked in a wide variety of settings. Ms. Erker strongly believes in Trauma Informed Care. Her approach to care is to work collaboratively with the client. She has been trained in a number of different modalities, believing different people needs different ways of help, and sometimes people need one way of assistance one day and a different one another day. She has been trained in CBT, MI, DBT and EMDR.
