I am a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience working with adults and teens. My eclectic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral strategies with other treatment modalities. After carefully listening to a person's presenting difficulties, we collaboratively identify the primary goals of treatment. I provide a supportive, understanding and objective framework in which we address one's concerns and build upon existing strengths. Village Counseling Services offers the longest running comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program in central New Jersey. To uphold the integrity of the DBT treatment model, we feature a structured and selective intake process and all members of our DBT Consultation Team have been intensively trained. We provide our clients with intensive, individualized treatment by maintaining a small therapist-to-client ratio and by offering DBT skills training in small groups. Our DBT program offers several DBT skills groups per week providing services to children ages 9 to 13, adolescents ages 14 to 18, adults and family members.

I am a Licensed Social Worker with a passion for decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting the health and well being of my clients. For my undergraduate degree, I moved from Central Jersey (Yes! It exists!) to South Jersey to attend Stockton University. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Behavioral Neuroscience from Stockton, and then moved on to attend graduate school in Philadelphia. I received my Master of Social Work Degree with a clinical concentration from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice in May of 2020.

I have studied extensively in the area of addictions, women's issues, Jungian Psychology, and Bowen Family Therapy. I utilize all of these ideas in my work, depending on the type of client I am working with. My approach is Rogerian, providing a safe and supportive environment, but not at the expense of my client's growth. At your initial visit, either Dr. Mark or Dr. Tamara will meet with you to discuss your presenting concerns in a comprehensive manner. We evaluate your problems, strengths, history and goals. Diane McMahon EdS, RN, LPC has been licensed in the healing arts since 1976. Through her years of continuing education and hands-on experience, she has successfully facilitated the ethical healing, empowerment and growth of clients of all ages. Diane spent 20 years working in the nursing field as a pediatric nurse, psychiatric nurse, and as a nursing educator. Since 2001, she has worked as a counselor primarily in schools and in community-based services providing Individual, Couple, Family and Group Counseling. New to her curriculum vitae is the addition of the EAGALA certification using horses as part of a therapeutic process for clients.

Hello. I am a licensed associate counselor (MA, LAC, NCC) with a background in both adult education and certification as a NJ behavior assistant. I bring a great deal of enthusiasm and life experience to my work, and I’m particularly interested in serving the needs of older adults and those who are currently experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, whether related to our changing post-Covid environment, relational losses or to other difficult life transitions. It is my belief that the fostering a strong therapeutic relationship is fundamental in the counseling process.
