I'm here to support your goals, working in collaboration with you, meeting you as one human being to another.

I’m a firm believer that everybody has the internal resources to live an authentic and fulfilling life. Sometimes, we have experiences that makes it challenging to access those resources, or our coping strategies that once worked well are no longer serving their purpose. My goal is to create a therapeutic space that is non-judgmental and safe, ultimately helping clients find insight into their lives.

We could all benefit from support at times. Someone who is willing to listen. Someone to provide an outside perspective. We can work together to help you stay connected to your positive parenting skills, your need to find calm or perhaps work through a past trauma. Sometimes, the things that we think of as our "shortcomings" or "flaws" are actually just a product of modern day society, where we are often told how we should behave, think, and feel from moment to moment. My goal is to help you discover your true needs, desires, and feelings, and distinguish them from those imposed onto you by external pressures. I strive to create a supportive therapeutic space for all teenagers and adults regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, ​race, ethnicity, religion, class, ability status and age.

Each person experiences mental distress uniquely. My aim is to partner with my client to ensure their safety in our shared space, create a bond of trust, and then dive into problems and solutions. Whether one experiences identity- or event-based problems and whether those are caused by individual development or social conditions, I strongly believe in the innate ability of trusting partnerships to overcome the troubles in our lives. If I'm not the right therapist for a person, I will work hard to keep them safe until they decide how to move forward.

As a seasoned psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, I work with both individuals and couples and specialize in working with women. I am experienced and comfortable working with a variety of concerns including anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress, depression and life transitions. Grief and losses of all types are special interests. It is certainly not necessary though to have identified a problem, as I also work with people who are feeling stuck or unfulfilled in life to find ways to move forward differently. Couples most often contact me to work through relationship problems and restore connection.

My work is based in Cognitive-Behavioral psychotherapy, with a wide variety of experiential techniques tailored to the needs of individual clients. I infuse this work with Mindfulness concepts and practices when appropriate to the client's needs. I enjoy my work tremendously, and have a very strong belief that anyone can learn to be comfortable in their own skin, and create a meaningful and fulfilling life for themselves.

I have enjoyed helping people with stress, anxiety, depression, abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), addiction/alcoholism in the family, couples, self-esteem, dissociation, and attachment issues. I have been providing psychotherapy and counseling to individuals and couples in Vermont for over twenty years in a wide range of clinical settings and across a broad scope of client populations. As a therapist, I support people through a process of improving their health and well-being, of living more more mindfully, and of creating opportunities for healing. I also assist clients in exploring personal growth, in developing new insights about themselves and their relationships, in learning skills to reduce stress, anxiety, and other forms of suffering, and in limiting obstacles that impact them from reaching their potential.

Welcome! I currently have openings for supervisees who are acquiring the necessary hours for state licensure. I also have limited openings for couples' workshops or intensives, or those interested in holistic healing retreats. I help clients with deepening their understanding of themselves and their patterns. I offer guidance and support with relational issues, anxiety, personal transitions, and suppressed creativity & vitality. While working together, we may focus on thought processes, feelings and mindfulness, in order to support positive relationships, emotional health, and increased awareness & empowerment.

As your therapist, I act as a guide, collaborating and helping you to access the larger sense of who you really are in the world, assisting in the process of deep internal discovery, and ensuring that our time together unfolds at a pace that brings about the change you desire. I have been practicing as a psychologist for over 30 years. My Masters degree in Clinical Psychology is from St. Michael's College, and my undergraduate degree is from U.V.M. I also completed a two year post-graduate training program in Behavioral Medicine, which provided me with a specialty in working with clients with chronic medical conditions. I teach coping skills and provide support to clients who are dealing with injuries and illnesses.
