I am a Board Certified Advanced Practitioner and Physician Assistant who specializing in providing care to those affected by a wide range of psychiatric conditions. I specialize in medication management of a wide range of psychiatric conditions primarily including, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, Bipolar and other Mood Disorders, PTSD and substance use disorders. I offer medication management only when necessary, while recognizing that each individual is unique and requires an individual treatment plan for optimal mental health and wellness outcomes.

I am a Columbia-trained general and addiction psychiatrist and researcher. My practice focuses on delivering high-quality treatment to a small number of patients. I focus on complex substance use, co-morbid/dual diagnoses cases such as Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and depression, and behavioral addictions such as sex/gaming addiction. I conduct both talk therapy and use medications in my practice and work with both patients and their families. The goal is transformative change in behavior patterns to help patients achieve their highest level of functioning.

I am a board-certified Family Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in the healthcare field for over 34-years. In 2008, I returned to Upstate Medical University and was a graduate of the first program that was offered at Upstate for Family Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. I am very passionate about mental health and assisting others to understand their own mental health needs. I work closely with my clients to assist them in understanding their diagnosis, treatments available for their diagnosis and setting up a plan that will meet their needs best.

I am a board certified psychiatrist. I was trained at NYU and I provide treatment to adults using psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. I use a variety of treatment modalities combining medications, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic treatment. I have experience working with people who have bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, substance and alcohol abuse, and adult attention deficit disorder. In addition I co lead a group aimed at helping people talking about death and become comfortable with the subject. It is my belief that in doing so we can live a fuller life! Dr Tiell. takes a holistic, comprehensive approach in the person-centered treatment plan, which includes psychotherapy and medication management. Her therapeutic approach is warm, non-judgmental and empathetic. She offers individualized therapy modalities, including supportive, emotional, goal setting, and mindfulness. My expertise lies in treating addiction and alcohol abuse in high functioning Executives and Professionals. Many of my clients seek treatment because their substance use is threatening their success: they have much to lose, and want to regain control of their lives. Rather than classify patients as "addicts" and put them in a one-size-fits-all spiritual or CBT program, my practice philosophy is a fully individualized, humanistic treatment approach. Each person is assessed to formulate a customized plan that can include medication assisted treatment (now considered a gold standard) and/or individual psychotherapy.

Dr. Albin is a Board Certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, and currently provides evaluation and management of mental health issues with psychotherapy and medication management in private practice.
