Immediate Same Day Appointments are available 7 days a week for Residents of NJ and NY and your psychiatric evaluation, weight management, suboxone treatment and more and will be performed by a Doctorate level psychiatric provider and prescriber who is specializing and successfully treating clients from age 12. Here at the Venn Center, we offer patients a unique therapeutic experience. I conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments, as well as provide both individual and group psychotherapy to clients of all ages. I also offer pharmacotherapy and medication management when appropriate. That being said, 25% of my patients are not on any medication since I employ non-medicinal interventions that help remediate psychiatric symptoms whenever possible. Offering these complementary services allows the clients I work with to feel empowered in their desire for change toward a healthier way of being.

I am a dual board certified adult and child-adolescent psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating patients with complex emotional and behavioral challenges. I am well adept at addressing issues ranging from depression, to ADHD, to behavioral issues, to struggles with addiction. I have worked in the Mental Health field for over 30 years and have treated adults ranging in age from 18 to 80. I have also done extensive work with couples and families. My clients have had a wide variety of presenting problems from depression, anger management, relationships issues, anxiety, mood disorders, marital problems, phobias and obsessive compulsive behaviors. I see my client as a whole person not as a person with a problem. A person with strengths and weaknesses. I believe clients want to have full remission of their symptoms , so they are able to function well and enjoy their life. A lot of clients are afraid to reach out for help either because of the stigma, fear to taking medication, or concerns of the medication side effects. The mental illness stigma have prevented a lot of people to reach out for help, believe me no human being is immune from mental illness. He received his bachelor’s master’s and doctoral education from Rutgers University and a post-masters from Wilkes University. Dr. Kusi is highly esteemed among his clients who speak well of his respect, love for his profession, and compassion he expressed while providing care.
